Here is one of our latest extractions from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch can be cleaned in 10 years for 7.5B USD. The only thing standing between the world and a clean ocean is money. It’s time for action.

The GPGP seemed to be an unfixable problem, now can be eradicated for less than 10 billion. That's where I want my tax money to go.

No virtue signaling, no savvy wordy social media post, just hard work with tangible results actually making a difference in our oceans. Maybe if we didn’t spend billions on wars we could easily set aside a couple billion for what really matters.

It's disheartening to witness such a vast amount of human trash in the oceans, but it's inspiring to see you taking action to clean up the mess caused by humanities negligence.

Nearly all of it appears to be fishing gear.

According to our research, more than 75% of floating plastics in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch can indeed be traced back to fishing. More info:

The plastic is to clean. There is nothing growing on it, what normale starts after floating two weeks in the water. How is that possible?

Of course the oceans should be cleaned — what is done with all that plastic next?

We aim to ensure that it never re-enters the marine environment. Our partners are working hard to design sustainable products using this plastic. More info:

7.5 billion / 10 years * 75% fishing stuff / 200 million tonnes of fish and seafood / year * == $2.81/metric ton/year. That seems completely reasonable to be borne by the fishing industry.

Warren buffet is giving away all his net worth to charity. This would be a great cause that he could easily fund!
