@OurOcean @SamHeughan Where I live single use plastic’s are prohibited already, so my challenge will be to bring my reusable metal straw/cutlery set with me on my travels! 💪🏼💙🩵

Ive been using hard plastic straws for a while now. Hard plastic straws can be a good option to single use straws because they are reusable, portable, durable, washable and can be recycled at the end of their lifespan. Imagine the impact if we all gave up the habit of single-use plastics. So say NO to the single-use straw, and help change the future for our oceans.

@OurOcean @SamHeughan I actually noticed, while on vacation in Montana last week, that Bars & Restaurants were often eliminating plastics for takeout. I brought reusables along, and noticed Hotel Breakfasts were using regular silverware & glass plates. Reusable $1.00 Bags we’re also available. 😉☝️

@OurOcean @SamHeughan In Holland you don’t get any plastic cutlery or plastic straws anymore, it’s all paper and carton/wood

@OurOcean @SamHeughan Now how do we get places when you order takeout to actually PAY ATTENTION when you Mark or SAY no cutlery/ utensils? Almost always they are just thrown in the bag anyway.

@OurOcean @SamHeughan In Italy 🇮🇹 since 2022 it is forbidden ⛔️ to place on the market oxo-degradable plastic products and single-use plastic products, such as cotton buds, cutlery, expanded polystyrene food containers and their caps and lids 🙌♻️🚮💙

@OurOcean @SamHeughan Cutlery and straws have been banned in Germany since July 2021. Only remaining stocks may/were allowed to be recycled. Other disposable items (bottles) must be labeled as such! I think this is a good start. There are so many good alternatives (wood, untreated cardboard, glass
