The local AI mode is what caught my eye. Genuinely asking, does subagent coordination hold up on smaller models, or does it need something with real reasoning capacity to actually delegate well?

local mode is the one i would use first. most of my agent runs fail when the api rate limits, and that problem just goes away on your own machine.

Local AI mode is the whole game. The moment agents run fully local, the cloud bill stops being the moat.

the local mode is the bit i care about. a coding agent without a cloud roundtrip changes the failure budget. does hermes keep the same tool loop locally or swap in a smaller planner?
