Shocking: The head of the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association says that Canada’s EV mandate is taking money from our automakers and funnelling it into the pockets of Tesla. While our auto industry suffers, the Liberals enrich American companies. A completely backwards approach. So today's announcement by Mark Carney to scrap the EV mandate is an admission the EV scam was always about giving corporate welfare to companies, with nothing in return for Canadians. This keeps happening folks. While Canadians struggle with food & rent, we give out tens of billions to companies that take the money and run. The Liberals are just as much to blame as Donald Trump's tariffs for the disaster befalling our auto sector. Canada went from manufacturing 2.3 million cars a year in 2016 to 1.2 million cars a year in 2025. So not only did we not become a global leader in EV manufacturing, our auto manufacturing collapsed.

Stellantis closing the Luton factory is devastating for the 1,100 workers. It’ll be convenient to blame this on the ZEV Mandate, but that isn’t the full picture; after all Luton doesn’t currently make an EV and it exports most of its production. It’s down to a combination of headwinds (including Chinese EV competition) the European auto industry has been facing and we musn’t roll back progress being made with EVs although I would support greater flexibility on the annual targets.

This part of Carney’s press briefing in Qatar did not get the attention it deserves. This is GFANZ Carney laying out the future of Canada’s auto sector. Chinese EV’s being made in Canada. And who are the Canadian partners? Flavio Volpe’s Arrow EV? Who? Listen carefully to the end of the clip. He is basically saying the old auto industry of the 2000’s & 2010’s will be dead, the future is only electric because he says so. Canada is done for under this Government.

Our Government running to China & having meetings with car manufacturers there is not just an irritant to the U.S. but also Japan. Japan does not agree with Carney’s “middle powers” nonsense as they rely on the U.S. economy, and if Canada wants to continue to have Japanese auto manufacturing in Canada, the USMCA deal is essential for that. Our Government is playing a dangerous game.

Today, the Liberals voted against our Conservative opposition motion calling for a tariff-free Canada–U.S. auto pact. We want to protect our communities." Here is my response to that. What about Saskatchewan workers in Saskatchewan communities in the Saskatchewan canola industry? Team Canada can't just mean Team Quebec.

Here he lays out quite clearly, “without the U.S. there is no Canadian automotive market” Diversification is not an option. He is calling for the Government to stop the Chinese EV agreement as even though 49000 cars seems low, that accounts for 30% of the amount of EV’s sold in Canada each year. Our Government needs to get their act together, hundreds of thousands of Canadians livelihoods are on the line. 5 minutes worth watching.

Trump keeps stating that it's to the advantage of the U.S. if the Canadian government is Liberal. He never tells you why, but here's the reason. Canada sells oil to the U.S. at a massive discount. We are trapped in this deal because the Liberals blocked pipelines that would have expanded our markets. Trump is well aware that Carney and his decade old Liberal government are unlikely to change the situation. Carney has already said that his primary focus is on emissions reductions, not production growth or pipeline expansion. The Liberals also make for a good political foil to justify his frankly pathetic attempt to annex Canada. It allows him to continue on with this distraction. In 2 years, the midterm elections will decisively curtail Trump's power. Canada however risks being saddled with Trudeau's economic advisor and his old cabinet for another 4 years. Wake up Canada!
