Beit Lahia is in North Gaza, and Tal Al Dahab (hill of gold) is an area near the yellow line where almost no aid reaches. This is exactly why The Sameer Project goes and supports such areas! Donate: On December 17th, the Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine)) x The Sameer Project distributed 135 pairs of shoes, in collaboration with Small Steps Project (Small Steps Project). Total cost was around $1,962, including 9% commission. The Sameer Project will continue to bring aid to Jabalia and Beit Lahia. Unfortunately Shujaiyah has been bombed several times, even outside of the yellow line. Even today several people were bombed and killed in Shujaiyah. With temperatures hitting 35 degrees Celsius/ 95 Fahrenheit, patients in hospitals are struggling with the heat. The third burn degrees in particular need fans for their wounds, support: The Sameer Project x Translating Falasteen (@translating_falasteen) responded to this need and purchased 12 ceiling fans for Al Shifa hospital in the North. Additionally, we provided 2 ceiling fans to the ambulance team in Sheikh Radwan area. Each one of these fans cost around $66 so all 14 cost $924 with 10% commission. Some days we find rice and some days we don’t but on the 29th of July and thanks to your support we managed to find some. Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine)) x the Sameer Project team distributed 150 meals to the civil defense team, ambulance team and individual tents in Al Samer neighborhood in Gaza City, support: . Each meal cost $17.85 with 10% commission so total of $2,678. Each meal of rice weighs 800 grams so it’s enough for 2-3 people. With the ongoing imposed famine by the military occupation, a few bites of food, and especially carbs, is very difficult to obtain. We are hoping aid comes into Gaza so that we can return to serving thousands per day. Till then we continue to provide whats available and distributing to hospitals, frontliners and camps. Starting from today rice meals are $9 so we are doubling up on all numbers with aid trucks coming in and more goods available, donate: So far the trucks mainly had sugar, flour and rice, we pray that meat and a variety of vegetables and fruit comes in. On August 1st prices were still at $17.50 per plate and we distributed 225 meals (800g per meal) at Al Katiba Camp, Konia, in Al Rimal. The total cost was $3,938 with 10% commission. We recently found a kitchen running and serving potatoes and eggplants with tahini so we immediately purchased the whole amount, donate: We were so happy to find a meal with carbs and veggies to serve. Together Reviving Gaza (Reviving Gaza) and the Sameer Project worked on providing much needed nutritious food to Nasser hospital. For two days in a row, 400 kilograms of potatoes were distributed to the patients in the hospital on each day. The initiative done on August 8th and August 10th cost overall $19,616 with 10% commission. Each kilo of potatoes with commission cost $21.55 so the 800 kilos of potatoes alone cost $17,240 and the rest was paid for labor, transport and cooking costs. Our focus on hospitals is due to the ongoing famine that strongly impacts patients while they are trying to heal. The lack of nourishing food prolongs the illness and makes their recovery harder. Why are people still in the North? Because as this man says heartbreakingly “displacement isn’t free.” Palestinians are expected to fund their own ethnic cleansing. You either pay to evacuate South, as ordered by the occupation, or you stay in the North and starve to death or get killed by the occupation’s bombs. This is the impossible choice families face.
