How is it possible that this swing can shoot around even par on a golf course I've never played or even seen before? Here's just a few god awful looking swings of mine due to the fact my back was in pain every shot... (lower back seized up) You...

💬Tyrrell Hatton immediate reaction as leader after the second round 📈 QUESTION: I've got to ask you, is practice overrated? HATTON: I don't know about that. It seems to be working okay for me this week. But still a long way to go. QUESTION: Your post-shot reactions are the stuff of legend, but also David Feherty makes a point quite often of how quickly you recover and refocus on the next shot. Does this course force you to do that even more? HATTON: I mean, yeah. This golf course can be very frustrating. Obviously I lose my head around the simplest of golf courses. Maybe guys playing this week, it kind of brings them closer to my level of losing their mind. I'm happy with how I've played the last two days. Even today when it was difficult, I was in some difficult positions, I still didn't feel like I was hitting that bad a golf shot. But it kind of happens around here, and ultimately just happy with how the back nine played out. Yeah, looking forward to the weekend now. QUESTION: Speaking of the weekend, the expectation level starting the week probably didn't sound like it was that high based on what you said yesterday. Does it change with the way you've played through two rounds? HATTON: I mean, I would say that the last two rounds have allowed me to feel more comfortable with what I'm trying to do and feel with the golf swing, and generally I feel like I've hit a lot of really good shots. Kind of taking confidence from that and hoping that I can keep the same feelings going and keep hitting good golf shots. I feel like at times I've holed some nice putts, so it would be nice if I can keep doing that. I mean, it's a quality leaderboard, there's a long way to go, and I'll just keep trying my best. #LIVGolfAndalucia | Legion XIII

Chanyeol talking about his golf & bowling days 📽 : if things don't go the way you wanted today, are you the type of person who loses sleep over it? 🍒 : i used to be a bit like that in the past, but people who are truly competitive don't just get upset because they lost to an opponent.. i think they are just constantly fighting a battle with themselves 🍒 : i played golf for about a year and then completely quit. because i wanted to be so good at it, every single day when icame back from a round, if i feel that my score wasn't good that day, i would stay up all night thinking about it. and my first thought when waking up the next day would be, "i need to go straight to the practice range" since i thought about it that much, it even distracted me with my work. so, while preparing for the next album, i just gave up golf entirely 🍒 : i was also like that with bowling. i used to play about 30 games a day 📽 : i heard you used to play for 12 hours at a time? 🍒 : yes, there were many days when i stayed at the bowling alley for more than 12 hours! if the bowling alley was on the 3rd basement floor, there was a sauna on the 1st basement floor. so when it opens, i would go to the bowling alley, play until dawn, sleep at the sauna and as soon as i woke up, go right back to bowling! 🍒 : i was a bit extreme in the past. but It felt like it was interfering too much with my career [ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ] so i've cut back a lot now!

Ludvig Aberg gives a refreshingly honest assessment of his round today: “Yeah, obviously really disappointed. I felt like I was striking it okay early on. Got away with a few things, especially No. 4, kind of left miss. “But overall pleased with the week. Obviously today the back nine was not good, but that's the way it goes sometimes.” “It got away from me quick there (on 11 and 12). Yeah, it was just poor swings. I felt like I've had that sort of 7-wood right miss a few times this week, on No. 4 especially twice, and it came up on 11 as well. “Then tried to press a little bit on 12, hitting driver, where sometimes you can play 3-wood a little short of that bunker. “Yeah, obviously really disappointed. I would have loved to be standing where Cameron is standing right now. But overall I still felt like I saw some nice things in my game this beak.” He then went on to talk about the positives he can take away from this week: “I think obviously the biggest thing that I take away is that I feel like I'm playing nice golf. I'm playing golf to the point where I feel like I can contend in big tournaments. “Obviously a good finish last week and still a top-5 finish this week. Overall I feel like I'm playing good golf, which is really nice. It's nice to see on a hard golf course last week, hard golf course this week. That makes me excited. “Obviously I would have loved a different back nine outcome today, but looking at the grand scheme of things, I'm pleased with my golf game.” All class from Ludvig after a really difficult back 9. Cameron Young is playing with a golf ball that would allegedly be compliant with the new roll back rules that will come into effect in a few years time. He was asked about it ahead of the PGA Championship and he says every player in the game is sacrificing distance for control, and he put it in play at the Wyndham last year which he won. “I think I put it in play the same reason that everybody else plays the ball that they play. I hit it during a ball test, one of the Titleist facilities probably close to two years ago and didn't know anything about it and just kind of say, hey, what's that one? Because I liked the flight. “Then as things progressed, I was able to test it last year at Wyndham, able to put that in play, and it's been there since. “Obviously there is no conforming list. I wasn't aware that it would have -- I suppose I read something that said it passed that test, but I wasn't aware of that until very recently. “So at no point was that a consideration. It was just really me trying to optimize my golf, and it's the ball that seems to work the best for me.” He then was asked whether he lost distance with it compared to other balls he’s tested: “Not particularly. I don't think any of us are out really here playing the ball that goes the farthest. I think you'd struggle to find a single person that's doing that. We're all sacrificing a certain amount of things that we feel are worth it, control with irons, control with wedges. For me, that's the biggest thing is being able to control spin, and this is the ball that does the best for me.” Finally he can as asked whether this ball goes further than the one he was using: “No, I hit very similar, yeah. It's much more -- the driver is kind of the easiest thing to deal with, I feel like. For me to get it where it needed to be, I had to just add a little bit of spin, and it kind of comes out at a perfectly playable range. “For me, the biggest thing, like I said, is the irons. This ball is easier to control with the irons. It doesn't spin as much, and it just allows me to be better with my distance control just because it's more consistent.” The golf ball rollback has been a hugely controversial subject but Cameron Young is currently using one that’s compliant and he is playing the best golf of his career. This gives the best idea yet on what impact, or lack of it, the new rules will actually have on the sport. PGA Championship

Bryson DeChambeau shot a final round 65 to finish 3rd at LIV Golf Korea, just 1 shot out of the playoff. He said after the round that the improvement was due to the work he did with Gemini AI after the 71 on Saturday: “Yeah, the beginning of the first round I felt great. Golf swing felt in sync and then it started getting out of sync and it felt like my hands were getting ahead of me. It continued that way for the next two rounds, and it was very frustrating. “I spent some long hours on the range trying to figure some stuff out and I was talking to AI quite a bit last night trying to go through some different physics principles that makes the club turn over, having some alpha torque and gamma torque put in there. I was like, what makes that possibly do that, and was talking about just grip pressure and tension. “So I came out here today with just a little bit more freer hands, and I felt the club a lot better, and I felt like I could close the club a lot more effectively and then I started striping it. “From then on out, I was able to kind of control it. Still missed some wedges to the right coming in, which is kind of frustrating, but that's just me holding on a little bit rather than just letting it go. “I feel like I'm on the right path now, and I had it okay in the first round, but really felt it -- I felt really good this round. I felt better than I did in the first round, which is a good trend. “Hopefully it continues, and I'm just continuing to learn. That's the thing; this game is so brutal. Missing two cuts at the majors and you feel like you're golden going in there, won a couple events and playing well, and this game can kick you when you're at your highest. “It goes for all of us, not just me. It's everybody here. Everybody wants to win. “I think that's the beautiful part about golf is that it can kick you when you're at your highest or it can bring you up when you're at your lowest, and yet we have to respect the game for that. “So I felt great. Didn't feel great in the middle of the tournament, but then the last round today I felt a lot better. “I'm proud of the way I persevered to finish third without really anything.” And then spoke about the Gemini assisted practice session he had at 8pm: “I was slamming the club in the ground trying to figure out what to do. I was frustrated. Been trying everything in my body. I didn't actually figure it out on the range. I went back and started talking to Gemini and trying to figure out just what it could be to passively make the club turn over. Hands just felt like they were moving forward like this and I couldn't get the club to turn over. Even if I tried to stop it here, it still wouldn't turn over. “So I left kind of frustrated and learned later that night that I just needed to relax my grip pressure and let the thing just fold over naturally. “I'm still working it out. I don't have the answer.” The solo 3rd was a good bounce back from a disappointing missed cut at the PGA Championship. He’ll now head to Valderrama next week for LIV Golf Andalucia before attempting to win his 3rd US Open at the historic Shinnecock Hills in a few weeks. Bryson DeChambeau Crushers GC LIV Golf
