It seems to be working okay for me this week. But still a long way to go. QUESTION: Your post-shot reactions are the... stuff of legend, but also David Feherty makes a point quite often of how quickly you recover and refocus on the next shot. Does this course force you to do that even more? HATTON: I mean, yeah. This golf course can be very frustrating. Obviously I lose my head around the simplest of golf courses. Maybe guys playing this week, it kind of brings them closer to my level of losing their mind. I'm happy with how I've played the last two days. Even today when it was difficult, I was in some difficult positions, I still didn't feel like I was hitting that bad a golf shot. But it kind of happens around here, and ultimately just happy with how the back nine played out. Yeah, looking forward to the weekend now. QUESTION: Speaking of the weekend, the expectation level starting the week probably didn't sound like it was that high based on what you said yesterday. Does it change with the way you've played through two rounds? HATTON: I mean, I would say that the last two rounds have allowed me to feel more comfortable with what I'm trying to do and feel with the golf swing, and generally I feel like I've hit a lot of really good shots. Kind of taking confidence from that and hoping that I can keep the same feelings going and keep hitting good golf shots. I feel like at times I've holed some nice putts, so it would be nice if I can keep doing that. How is it possible that this swing can shoot around even par on a golf course I've never played or even seen before? Here's just a few god awful looking swings of mine due to the fact my back was in pain every shot... (lower back seized up) You know what I learned from playing golf crippled... I learned that you don't actually need to do much to play good golf & hit the golf ball where you want I was swinging the club no faster than 95mph (If I was lucky), I did however hit it pretty damn straight most of the time, got up & down a lot, & holed a few putts I wasn't trying to stop early extension. I wasn't trying to "drop it in the slot". I wasn't trying to "get open at impact (I couldn't). All I tried to do was swing my arms & control where the face was at impact I played better golf than 99% of golfers on the planet & I had no speed + a crippled lower back I think we need to ask ourselves what is truely required to play good golf.
