I feel like the video kinda proves the point. Generic sword swings with basic 1/2 inputs, auto cinematic finishers and some very basic magic. Very standard, generic RPG stuff. If you want a game about fighting monsters with great combat? Monster Hunter baby.

Personally as much as I love MBAACC I can't recommend it to new fighting game players. A lot of the inputs feel frame perfect with low margin for error and there's no tutorial mode. Also preferably you should read Tsukihime first so you know who the characters are. For first timers I would recomend something like FighterZ, MVC3 or if you want to do Melty Blood, start with Type Lumina. HOWEVER, MBAACC is an amazing game that's cheap and runs well and even as a new player if you have the motivation, you can learn it just like any other game.

Vampire Hunter D got a PS1 game based on the same book as the Bloodlust movie. It basically plays like Resident Evil but with melee combat and spells. It's genuinely on the upper-tier of RE clones with very decent level design and good voice acting. I recommend.
