I just released a tool that helps you learn Linux by practicing it. Shell Gym is an interactive Linux command-line trainer built on years of teaching experience. Basically, I extracted the core of iximiuz Labs and turned it into a standalone daemon.

Turning Linux practice into an interactive trainer shows how skill becomes behaviour. Shell Gym extracts the core of command line learning and turns repetition into structure. When a tool teaches through action the operating system becomes a space for cognitive precision.

@iximiuz This looks like a really useful tool. Learning Linux through an interactive command-line trainer seems like a great approach. I'm curious how you plan to help users who get stuck on a particular command or exercise.

And I'm curious if this was written by an AI bot...

Thanks! I'm usually pretty bad at naming projects, so I'm glad I chose a name that resonates this time.

Wait until I integrate it into iximiuz Labs and add spaced repetition! 😉

Releasing as an Appimage would help many new linux users to be able to use your tool. ... Thank you for Shell Gym. I will recommend it to those whom I have introduced to Linux, in my area.

Glad you find Shell Gym helpful! Re: AppImage, Shell Gym is already a single statically linked binary, so it's probably as portable as it gets - people can just download it and run :) And I also prepared an Ubuntu-based playground where people can try Shell Gym right in their browser

We need a whole system that is just easier to use that Linux, and can somehow link to the other programs so they can switch files between them and so convert I want that program I want to set up like a citizen CIA to help get these Concerned Citizens on track

Sounds intriguing, but I am not sure I fully understand the message.

lol Well we know they are designing these programs against us So we need the better program then [I have used Linux, and it is half way there] AND the ability to navigate the 'truth' with experts such as yourself... or their 'experts' keep giving us their helpful "advice" and fancy consulting reports... and just keep building EVERYTHING as we see is messed up So sure I am interested in that citizen CIA group and info and so computers would be a key aspect, but just finding a person at a professional level that actually knows their stuff AND can see the whole world macro view with wisdom AND then has the courage to face this... and this talk can go somewhere I made an invention too called the SpyBlocker We need to make a whole tech department and Linux for now at least will be the OS
