Grok Build is seriously addictive. I can't put it down. I had my 8-year-old nephew build a game with it, Starship Breakthrough. He sent all the prompts himself; I just gave a little guidance on the side. He knows zero code, and when he finished his first real game, he was over the moon. One tip: when you start a new project in Grok Build, don't have it execute right away. Say "I want to build a ___, design it first, then build it." Let it lay out a plan, you review it, then it executes — the results come out noticeably more solid. Everyone should give it a try.

Very pleasantly surprised to discover Cursor cloud agents can playtest the godot game I built. See the (sped up) video below of the agent playtesting the game. As I was watching it play the game, I can see the agent slowly learn how the game works and familiarise with the game's UI. I also realised that the agent is a very 'safe' player, choosing to play very safely and retreating from battle if it foresees it can't defeat. Very interesting to see. I wonder if I could simulate different game playtester behaviours that mimic different types of real-world player archetypes. With agentic playtesting, this means that the agents are able to provide actual gameplay feedback and suggestions to improve the game, having played the game itself. This unlocks a whole lot of possibilities for AI-assisted game dev, since it closes the playtest loop. This feels like the future of recursive game development, where agents can now recursively build > playtest > improve the games they are working on. Thanks edwin for letting me know that these agents can actually playtest games, not just software! Very excited to dig deeper to see what I can do with these agents with computer access!

I gave the Unity CLI a try - and it's GOOD! Connected with Grok 4.5 via Grok Build - it handled the Editor by itself. Took the 2d platformer template and told Grok to give it a visual uplift, while keeping the game mechanics. Spriterrific for the character animations and Nano Banana 2 lite for the static sprites. I think this is a huge unlock for gamedevs, especially those who want to use Unity!

I used to play way too much Vampire Survivors. I stopped for about a year after I had maxed most everything and all the DLC content. Decided to start over today. It's such a ridiculously addictive game. At some point in a level you're basically invincible and just coin farm to build character XP.

I'm moving and found a fun little use for Claude Cowork: Hand it a floorplan and ask it create a 3D planner. The attached demo (not my real place) was a one-shot. I also had it find all the email receipts for furniture I got over the last few years and put in matching models. Yesterday, I asked it to add a game mode so I can walk through different versions of my new place. The future is SO FUN

In the past week, I was able to build the following games: - An endless runner - A tower defense - A Mario Party-like mini-game - An arena-based shooter The key unlock here was the ThreeJS skill With Opus 4.5 & GPT 5.2 - Claude Code / Codex CLI have much better end results now. With each game, I continued to update the skill based on bugs and issues faced - so it progressively got better and better at building the gameplay I was looking for. I've been doing this for a while now - and I can say that the leap in building games with vibe coding is real.

So I gave it a scene with an ancient water temple, a glowing artifact, a giant stone guardian, and a fast escape sequence. A lot could have gone wrong. The character could have changed. The environment could have broken. The camera could have lost the action. The sound could have felt completely disconnected. But the whole sequence stayed surprisingly consistent. The character, camera movement, water, lighting, action, and audio all felt like they belonged in the same world. Crimson Desert has this surface shader.. It has a transformative effect on the game visuals and it's seemingly applied to every object in the game. It doesn't look like tessellation, it appears to have artifacts from a screen-space effect. I believe they are using the height maps from every PBR material in the game to create some sort of screen space displacement mapping.
