I intend to do some intentional Smashup Derby in DCS later tonight. Too busy to right now. But I need to know just how hard it is to side-impact a jetliner that's in short final with your helicopter. I suspect pretty hard to get the timing just right, but maybe not. Has NVGs too!

can you switch view to the right seat? I think the helo came in from the right so it might be seen in that view. In the cockpit audio someone screamed as signal went dead, so someone saw it coming.

I’m far from an expert, but from the videos I’ve seen, it looked like the helicopter approached from the mid/side, so there’s no way the pilots in the airplane would have seen it coming or had much time to react. The helicopter had the maneuverability to avoid the airplane. Seeing a simulation on the helicopter point of view will be good.

Video showcasing the new updated intervention screen. Again I love the idea, but I really do not think this is the way to capture data from people. It’s just too intrusive and will throw people off. Some ideas: - It needs to be a smaller window that you can press to expand (and see the intervention reasons) - It should go away on its own after x seconds - something related to destination parking would be a good option? - voice note should just be one of the options in the list rather than an entire separate pop up - the mockup that ΛI DRIVR showed would be the absolute best way to handle this. You can observe all of your disengagements at the end of your drive and then you can go through and take the time to tag it all properly. There's a common error that I see in some Excel models today that results in a property being undervalued. Since property values have fallen in many markets over the last few years, a new buyer's NOI will likely be higher than the existing owner's NOI because the new buyer's property taxes will be lower. If you were to estimate the value of your property based on a cap rate and the in-place NOI without adjusting the property taxes for the new buyer, then you're likely going to undervalue the property. There's a simple shortcut to estimate the new buyer's NOI based on a reset tax basis without creating a circular reference. Step 1: Add the Property Tax Expense back to the NOI Step 2: Add the Tax Rate to the Cap Rate Step 3: Divide the higher NOI by the higher cap rate This will equal the same result as using your original cap rate with the buyer's NOI inclusive of the reset property taxes. Note: Property tax calculations based for a new purchase will vary state to state. In California, the property taxes will be based on the new purchase price.

Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas on the biggest threat to the data center industry: It's not competition. It's not regulation. It's decentralisation. I got a smart meter recently and saw you can download a HDF file with the data so I had the idea of writing a script that could parse that and show the data in a useful manner. However I discovered that someone has already done this and done a really good job on it. The video explains how it works. In simple terms it uses the ESB smart meter data and shows a breakdown of how much data you are using and when and also recommends plans and estimates what each one would cost based on the data. The tool is available at easier to read on Laptop or Tablet or then your phone to Landscape.

A couple of weeks ago the NTSB issued an update on the UPS MD11 crash and I wanted to use the graphs of flight data in a visualization combined with the ADS-B data and surveilance videos. This is what I ended up with, one hard part about this is the flight is so close to the ground the viewpoint needs to account for the pitch of the aircraft raising and lowering the cockpit.

Doing some testing of SS1 reading PS1 data directly from a disk without dumping the data first. It’s much better than I expected. That being said, copying games to the SD or SSD is still the optimal strategy for performance. It’s a one-time process and better for random access.

Here's the reconstruction of the view from AA472 based upon the last few minutes of data. It had been switched from RWY1 to RWY33 to help with traffic flow, the Helicopter was instructed to avoid the airliner and reported traffic in sight. It's very likely they were looking at the wrong plane. Crew of jet would not be able to see helicopter and the proximity warning systems were less reliable with the older transponder design on the helicopter.
