Ethan Klein of H3H3 Productions responded to iDubbbz's claims that the lawsuit has not dropped. Ethan states that there are technicalities at play, but they are still negotiating the terms of the settlement. From my perspective, it seems Ethan isn't taking the path to file a notice of discontinuance only, and wants to settle. A settlement could help Ian, because Ian's attorneys can add a stipulation for Ethan not to sue further. It looks as if this case isn't going to trial, or Ethan doesn't have the intention to take it to trial, and Ian may have possibly jumped to conclusions by seeing the deadline dates. I also wonder if Ian even talked to his attorney and asked for an update before firing up a livestream, because he would have naturally known they are in settlement negotiations had he asked.

in April, Ethan Klein made a massive song and dance out of suing Noah Samsen at the last minute, claiming that he was one of the “main peddlers” of defamation against him, and how he was “following through on a promise” to sue Noah from a year prior. last week, after almost no proceedings, he voluntarily filed to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice. today, Ethan returned from break with a four hour long H3 Podcast episode, where he didn't mention Noah once. my guess is that Ethan was hoping Noah would jump at any opportunity to settle to avoid trial (similar to Kaceytron)—but he quickly realized he wasn't going to be able to strongarm Noah into controlling his speech, and quietly filed to dismiss the lawsuit. essentially, I think this lawsuit was just a bluff, and Noah called it. I never want to seem like I think I have any right to “demand” statements or accountability from anybody, but I don't think you should get to try to pull stunts like this and then silently tiptoe away after you get your shit reamed and pretend it never happened.
