Why? For what reason?? Maybe I’m in denial but I still think if DiCaprio wins the BAFTA this weekend & SAG next weekend, he can still win the #Oscar. You guys know how strongly I feel about this- Leo should win Best Actor without question. He should already have multiple Oscars.

On the 7th anniversary of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, I still think this is Leonardo DiCaprio’s best performance. He lost the Oscar to Joaquin Phoenix for Joker & it’s a decision that’s aged horribly by the Academy. DiCaprio’s comedic range in this film changed my expectations of Leo as an actor. He reached another level with this film, which also happens to be Tarantino’s best.

Sylvester Stallone was robbed of the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for Creed. I’ll never let it go. Stallone was shockingly great & Creed smashed my expectations overall. I wanted Sly to win & have another iconic moment in The Rocky franchise, especially so many decades after he won Best Picture for the first film. This snub by The Academy will forever annoy me.

Gladiator is another example of The Academy getting it totally right. For all the misfires & wrong decisions the #Oscars have made over the years, I 100% believe this film deserved to win the #Oscar for Best Picture & I think Russell Crowe’s win for Best Actor was also deserved.

The iconic ending in The Best Years of Our Lives (1946), directed by William Wyler. For his performance as Homer Parrish, Harold Russell became the only actor to win two Academy Awards for the same role. The Academy Board of Governors thought he was a long shot to win, so they gave him an honorary award “for bringing hope and courage to his fellow veterans through his appearance”. Later in the ceremony, he won for Best Supporting Actor at the 19th Academy Awards held on March 13, 1947.

It doesn’t sit right with me that Philip Seymour Hoffman didn’t win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for The Master. Christoph Waltz was flawless in Django, but his performance in Django is cut from a similar cloth as Inglourious Basterds- and not as good. PSH in The Master is a once-in-a-lifetime performance. He should’ve won the Oscar for that exact reason.
