Day 33 of vibe coding a game+engine using Cursor So I approached character animation from a different perspective this time. Instead of 3D -> 2D I went for native 2D via image to video method. This gives us much richer animations that the limited ones we get with 3D! Eliza is really cute with these! The downside is the time it takes to get them all done, even with Cursor skills/automation. Which ones did you like more? Check the previous posts for the 3D ones!

I vibe coded a game called Aether Breach for my son today. Built the whole thing in about 2 hours using Cursor, Grok 4.5, and GPT Image 2.0. He gave it a try and really liked it. I just need to make Easy mode a bit more relaxed so he can make it to the later stages. The full game has DualSense support too. I published my WebHID DualSense npm package a few days ago, so adding controller support to new games is pretty straightforward now. Really happy with how it turned out.

Explore the shallow seas as a stingray, vibe coded on ThreeJs using Cursor. I made a similar game more than a year ago, but I hit a roadblock because the models back then (I think I was using Sonnet 3.5) struggled with handling 3D models, but now, it's a different story. All 3D models were made with Tripo3D and I was able to put this together in less than 8 hours worth of work. I mainly used Composer 2.5 and Opus 4.8 to make this. Will try to find the original game I made a while ago and put it into the replies section.

I used Cursor to vibe code a simple fishing game prototype on the Unity Engine. Here's my learnings: - I did not use any Unity MCP for this. The game was built entirely by Cursor models (Sonnet 4.6 for execution and Opus 4.6 for planning) - The model was able to set up the game, getting the basic game mechanics working fairly quickly - I had to use the Unity Game Editor UI to attach components to the in-game objects manually, but it was quite easy to follow the instructions given by the Cursor model - Unity Editor is huge and slow! Compared to Godot, I find the UI really clunky I feel tired looking at it - Unity Assets Marketplace is amazing, there are so many amazing art assets there (like the ones I am using for this game). This is probably the biggest strength of Unity. - I had some issues with restoring checkpoints, probably because of how Unity Game Editor UI being really clunky and I had to manually adjust things in the Editor, which the model doesnt have knowledge of Overall, the results turn out pretty decent, but it was a rather frustrating experience, especially when I had to debug issues or rollback changes. I'll explore more vibe coding on Unity but for now, I think I prefer Godot as a game engine. I just wish there is a Godot Asset Marketplace!

Enough with the tattoos, flashy banners, and sugar-coated words. For this giveaway, I wanted to keep things simple and focus on something fun instead. My entry is inspired by a game that once took the entire world by storm. Borderlands 4 Performance Summary in 2 minutes: 0:00 - Native Res Badass Settings the game runs bad 0:30 - Upscaling Performance Mode Badass Settings, the game barely manages to hit 60FPS 1:20 - Frame Gen turned on and now you have 100 FPS Some people will turn all these settings on and be happy with it but in my honest opinion these are used as crutches to make the game look as if it performs good. Borderlands 4 has a certain art style that doesn't look like it needs these kind of settings to be turned on to play at a high framerate but sadly it does and you can defend this if you want but the future of gaming looks bleak, using this tech to not optimize the games further will just result in input latency increase as every game will be delivered with frame-gen turned on in the devs mind.

Pretty incredible You have to try the new '/goal' feature in Codex It worked for over an hour and built me an entire complex extraction shooter video game You give it a goal, then it works endlessly until the goal is complete. It's like a Ralph loop. Can run for days If you enable the image gen skill before you run the goal, it will even generate ALL the assets for your game autonomously. I didn't manually create ANY of the assets you see in the video Recommendations: enable the image gen skill, put on skip all permissions, and give the prompt as much detail as you can. It will accomplish ALL of it This has to be the sickest way to build games/ long running app tasks ever
