A student visa is a temporary document to study in Canada. That was always understood. Our universities and colleges were built by Alberta taxpayers, first and foremost for Alberta students. Where there is room for international students, the terms are simple. Earn your education, then return home to build a life with it. Rules are what make a fair system fair and our country needs to return to an immigration process that respects the rules.

Sympathy for young students is understandable, BUT NOT in this scenario !! BUT —> Reality is not optional. A study permit was never a guarantee of permanent residency! A protest is not a work permit! While these students camp out demanding more pathways, Canadian families have been quietly crushed for years. A $1,600 two-bedroom gets split four ways by students at $400 each. Landlords raise the rent. A couple with a newborn can’t compete. They either pay more, move to a worse area, cut groceries, or go into debt. No one organized a protest for them. No consultants sold them a dream. Youth unemployment was still 12.7% in June. Housing, healthcare, and wages never kept up. An international student on a work permit which is going to expire soon blames Canada for the fact that she's going to have to leave despite the fact that no such guarantee is made to students or temporary workers. I should know because I came to Canada as an international student nearly 30 years ago. She and her friends are now exploring ways of how they can stay on in Canada, including applying for refugee status which will be tied up for years while their case is decided. Our immigration minister Marc Miller ᐅᑭᒫᐃᐧᐅᓃᐸᐄᐧᐤᐃᔨᐣ Mikotsikaa naively believes those whose permits are expiring are going to leave Canada voluntarily which is a joke. He should watch this video. The sense of entitlement of some of these people is astonishing. She doesn't have a legal right to stay on in Canada beyond the date her current permit expires and if she refuses to leave, she should be deported. These people are playing on white guilt, the easiest thing to exploit in Canada where people are generally naive and think everyone is well intentioned.

There is a difference between a guest and a resident. 🛑 It’s one thing to come to Canada on a temporary permit; it’s another to refuse to leave once that permit expires. Right now in Manitoba, we have groups with expired visas meaning they are currently in the country illegally occupying our streets to demand ‘rights’ to stay. A visa is a legal contract with an end date. You don’t get to bypass our immigration laws just because you’ve decided the rules shouldn’t apply to you. Using our freedoms to protest against our own laws is a slap in the face to every legal immigrant who followed the rules and waited their turn. 🇨🇦

Here's why that's a good thing.” They explain how predatory colleges have become and how by taking away the funding for these programs it’ll force schools to lower their prices and make college cheaper “When the government stops providing taxpayer-funded loans to these programs, it keeps students from making a bad investment, and it incentivizes colleges to either lower prices or reform these programs to make them better. The program was created by Barack Obama and only was meant to last 2 years with a 2 year extension being possible after each 2 years, to be reviewed The way you know this was never meant to be a permanent pass to stay in America is because DACA recipients have no official way to US citizenship or even no legal path to a green card
