"Instead of taking people's jobs, it's actually exploding productivity. A radiologist who could read 60 to 100 exams a day can suddenly read 200 or 300 or 500." Jeff Ross says AI is driving a productivity boom, not a jobs crisis.

@FormerDrJeff That doesn't make sense, as there was only a limited number of files that needed review. So one radiologist is reviewing the files of 5. What are the other 4 now doing?

@FormerDrJeff So what happens to the Radiologists who were reading the other 100-400 images? Oh...

@FormerDrJeff Yeah...

I don’t get how people can’t play this out. If someone can go from producing 1 good to 5, the MC to produce something is falling. AI is only valuable if it brings you more value. More for less. Yes some companies will wield it better than others. In a Free market, consumers will choose who brings them the most value. Prices falling is deflationary- so this debt/credit based system has to print to offset the deflation. Productivity (more goods and services) doesn’t equal rising prices or ‘growth’. The measuring stick has to expand to offset the productivity gains.

@FormerDrJeff Yes that means less radiologists will be needed. Math much?

@FormerDrJeff Until you don’t need the radiologist anymore.

@FormerDrJeff What’s the max demand for radiology across the country? Does this mean you need fewer, but more ai native radiologists?

@FormerDrJeff It should be measured in NET productivity. There's always cost, explicit and hidden. We will be seeing all the productivity in these companies' bottom lines, right?
