Task Master CLI will makes Cursor 10x better at building projects. I created a full video demo of how it works. For those that don't want to watch. Here's what happens: 1️⃣ Install npm i task-master-ai CLI 2️⃣ Give it a description of your project. It will generate a PRD 3️⃣ It will then convert the PRD into tasks (10 detailed .txt files and a .json that acts as a local db to task track status) 4️⃣ Ask it to do a task. It will do the task and mark it off as done. Each task can also be broken down into small tasks using "expand" command. Following these steps it will build out an entire project. This is the future of dev and how tools like Manus work. But you can run it locally and follow step by step to make sure you're happy with what's happening. Seems a fitting to be posting about Task Master the day before Passover starts. Good job by Eyal Toledano who built this project.

The #1 problem with coding agents right now: Ask them to solve one problem, and they will make 10 other changes you didn't want. This happens to me every day. It happens to everyone I talk to as well. We have a solution for this now. The team Augment Code released a "Task List" feature for their coding assistant that solves this problem. Augment Code is partnering with me on this post. In case you haven't used them before: • Augment Code is a fully-fledged coding assistant • Their specialty are large projects • Fastest coding indexing I've seen • Has a free forever community edition Now, you can ask their coding agent to generate a Task List before doing anything. This will give you a plan you can review, edit, and augment if you need to. You can export this plan, load it on a different session, or even share it across projects. It makes a huge difference: The task list constrains the agent so you won't get any "unintended" changes anymore. It also puts you in control of everything the agent does. Today, we launched Quo (formerly OpenPhone) Tasks. Every phone system helps you talk to customers. Only Quo helps you follow through. When you're talking to customers, the goal is to get things done. Until now, there were really only 2 ways to track that work (and neither was great): 1. Hacking it in Quo 2. 3rd-party task management tools Either way, work falls through the cracks. Quo Tasks is the first time we're connecting the conversations you have with your customers to the work those conversations create. Now on any message, call, or transcript in Quo, you can create a task, assign it to yourself or a teammate, and set a due date. Every inbox also has a dedicated tasks tab right alongside chats and calls so your whole team can see everything that needs to be followed up on. I've been using this for work and personal, too. Recently, I was texting a friend about getting together and created a task right from the conversation. Not the most business-critical use case, but it showed me how easy it is to forget to follow up on things. If you're a Quo customer, let me know the first task you create. 🙂

When you could only give AI small bits of work, then the speed of response mattered a ton. The rate at which you can go back and forth with AI in real-time was the determining factor on how useful it is. But as AI agents can perform more complex and useful tasks in parallel behind the scenes, you can much more easily afford to wait longer for work to get done assuming it’s valuable. Now the focus becomes more on how you review and orchestrate the agents’ work. And the main factor is just how useful and usable is the output that the agent came back with.
