@muse_pablo Scary. Besides espionage what applications could this have? I mean it's great to know this is actually physically possible but I think what could come out of this in the long run. A better HDMI that is less vulnerable to this perhaps?

@muse_pablo In our case, as students and teachers in a University, we're learning a lot (signal processing, programming, ML, radio and electronics). That's our main goal (besides, as you mentioned, generating awareness on the possibility).

@muse_pablo My understanding is that this is an algorithm that can basically “read” what is on your computer screen wirelessly. It does this by taking the electromagnetic field that’s around your HDMI and decodes it back into an image on whoever’s computer is running this algo.

@muse_pablo That's right! The challenge is coming up with a good model of the HDMI signal, both to decide at what frequency one should "tune" to, and to then recover the image (using "traditional" methods as in gr-tempest or TempestSDR, or by using more sophisticated ones as here).

@muse_pablo Are you working with leaks from the cable or from the device sending out the signal? If cable, how much does it depend on the "quality" of the HDMI cable?

@muse_pablo Both cable and connectors. In my experience, cheap connectors are adapters are huge emitters! See for instance for an example of a cheap connector in VGA.

Congrats to the Kimi.ai team! This is awesome. Great to see this level of research coming from open-source frontier model labs. I liked the paper so much I built a Rust implementation of it ;) Full AttnRes + Block AttnRes with two-phase inference, built using Burn (tensor library and Deep Learning Framework, in Rust, by Tracel AI). Runs on CPU, CUDA, Metal, wgpu. Includes an interactive TUI that trains a model live and visualizes depth attention evolving from uniform to selective in real time. Repo link and more on what is implemented in the comments.

Washington lands a highly skilled prospect in Serbian big Nikola Dzepina. Nikola led Serbia in scoring this past summer in the U19 WC with 16.4 PPG, 5.4 RPG and 2.2 APG on 52/35/72 splits Do it all big man, has great feel, can make a lot of high level reads from the low block, great post game, legit spacer from deep. Face-to-face interactions stimulate your newborn’s brain in ways that pave the way for language learning. This according to fascinating new research from Dr. Patricia Kuhl and colleagues at the I-LABS. We’ve long known that serve and return stimulates the infant brain and supports parent/child bonding. But now, through use of magnetoencephalography (a fancy brain scan), Kuhl and colleagues have determined that these early interactions play a role in stimulating specific attention centers in the brain critical to language learning during a sensitive window from 6-12 months. In the study, children with the highest levels of stimulation in these attention centers at 5 months demonstrated superior language learning at five future points, measured up to two years after the initial scans.
