I'm always blown away by the fact that Rockstar Games casually made some of the best and most realistic water physics in 2008. GTA IV is the prime example of Rockstar Games focusing heavily on bringing realistic physics in a video-game. Everything from how a car handles, NPC ragdoll and water simulation in Grand Theft Auto IV was way ahead of its time and it even beats most of AAA games that we've seen these past few years when it comes to those game mechanics. Imagine how much ahead GTA 6 is going to be now that Rockstar Games has much more processing power to work with on current gen consoles

I understand Ubisoft is trying hard to stay above water at this point, I mean their stock is down -93.07% for the past 5 years. But focusing on quality is just a small piece of the puzzle, they should go back to their roots and just simply tell a good story. Get rid of the bloat, bring back motion captured cutscenes instead of horrible facial animations and tell a good story. I don't care if the map is larger than their previous game or that they have more side quests (which are mostly mid), gamers just want to enjoy a good story. There are so many recent Ubisoft games and they haven't given me that feeling of watching an actual masterpiece being told because their stories feel like Ubisoft is afraid of taking any risks. Assassins Creed IV is a perfect example of how bold Ubisoft used to be, when I experienced this cutscene for the first time, it sent shivers down my spine due to how good it was. I really hope AC: IV Resynced will be a success so Ubisoft can focus on giving us great games again.

Sleeping Dogs was slept on and hugely underrated. For a game that came out almost 14 years ago, it had a development budget of 30 million dollars and it managed to do such a fantastic job at everything that it had to offer. For starters, this game had a solid story, great character, amazing fighting mechanics with different finishers, parkour, good driving mechanics and small details that some open world games today wont even bother to add. Melee Combat is fantastic, you can grab different objects from the ground and smash NPCs with them or throw at them, this added so much versatility in combat. Finishers are also extremely satisfying, any object that is highlighted in red will guarantee you that you'll get to see one of the most fun ways to finish off an enemy. While driving mechanics were nothing too spectacular, it still offered you a great way to play while driving by having Ramming added to vehicles so you could push other vehicles away while you're being chased, in-game races were also very fun to play in my experience! Its a real shame this game didn't get nowhere near the recognition it deserved because I truly believe if we'd ever gotten a sequel, it would improve upon everything that the first game lacked and it would be an amazing franchise.

Last year we got the news that Just Cause 5 was reportedly cancelled during mid-development. Even though Just Cause 4 was a let down imo at least compared to Just Cause 3 and Just Cause 2. I have a hard time to understand how it affected the whole series. Just Cause is one of those few games that is so unique and filled with action, its a real shame that Square Enix decided to kill it off especially after trying out that stupid mobile turn-based game. Its another case of upper management making a stupid decision, burning money on a developing a mobile game that no one asked for and as a result the whole series gets cancelled.

My family couldn’t afford buying brand new games and consoles. My first PlayStation game was a used Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions by HIDEO_KOJIMA that came with a used PlayStation that my Mother was able to afford for me as a gift. That game changed it all for me and shot me into a trajectory of gaming I would have never been on if there was no used consoles and games. I’m thankful for it Imagine now, with digital only games. The young generation of gamers will never have this experience and never be able to afford a used game.

My biggest worry regarding GTA VI is if Rockstar Games will be able to deliver a 30+ FPS mode I don’t know how I will be able to enjoy it if it is going to be strictly locked at 30FPS. I tried playing GTA V Enhanced on Fidelity Mode that runs at a locked 30FPS and my eyes simply aren’t used to this 😭

One of GTA 5’s downsides was the lack of building destruction physics. I hope GTA 6 will have great destruction mechanics. It adds so much depth and immersion to the world. Battlefield 4 is a great example.

I'm playing GTA V on a PS3 and its been such a fun experience. I remember when was a kid and playing this for the first time, I didn't give a damn about how BAD the framerate was during driving. I was constantly in awe by how realistic this game looked back then that the framerate wasn't something that was going to stop me from enjoying it. Don't get me wrong, this game is running on a PS3 that has 256mb of RAM and 256mb of VRAM which is some black magic itself and the fact that Rockstar Games managed to have such a massive open world game with that much traffic and NPCs running in real-time is a feat on its own.

The only game that tops Red Dead Redemption 2 in terms of overall realism will be GTA 6 Not visually of course, but everything. From the character movement, the realistic environments, random events, ragdoll physics, wildlife interacting with each other and also how NPCs naturally react depending on the player's actions. Its still crazy to me that this has yet to be topped by any other game studio except Rockstar Games themselves, RAGE engine is truly in a league of its own.

Realistic Ragdoll feels like lost technology on every game except those ones that Rockstar makes. How come every modern game aims to push for realism with Ray Tracing, yet no game has even come close to offer the level of ragdoll physics that Grand Theft Auto IV had in 2008.

Crimson Desert visuals remind me a lot of Red Dead Redemption 2 and gameplay similar to Skyrim. The map is going to be twice the size of Skyrim and larger than Red Dead Redemption 2, but obviously map size and number of quests doesn't matter if they're all copy-pasted and repetitive. I also wasn't shocked when I found out it runs on its own proprietary engine because the visuals look truly different and unique from what I'm used to after playing a ton of UE5 games that have a similar look, hopefully the use of its proprietary engine also means a good performance with a high resolution. So far from what I've seen, this game looks stunning and sometimes I feel like it is too good to be true, I can't wait to get my hands on it and see if it lives up to all of this. This could actually be one of GOTY contenders for 2026.
