🔌Today I created a virtual web-based null modem so now you can finally play Quake 1 (from 1996) in multiplayer in the browser with other people online! This week I was able to create a virtual printer that listens on the COM2 port to make a web-based printer work in Windows 3.11, like on you can actually print to, it was one of my ideas when I started but it was always too difficult to make, I had no idea where to start, but this week AI was able to do it! Today I woke up and thought "if we can listen to COM2 via JS, how about listen to COM1 from Quake 1?" then we could forward the COM1 data via Websockets and to another user to create a virtual null modem (A null modem was a cable you'd use to connect two computers to each other directly in the 90s, if you couldn't afford buying a network card you'd use this to network, but you could only play with one other computer not multiple) So I built it, it took about an hour and works! I wanted to get Quake 1 in DOS to work with multiplayer for 2 years but I could never get it to work, but now it did it This project is a good benchmark of how capable AI is becoming, figuring stuff out that humans would take months within an hour You can try it here, I don't know how it will match lots of people but let's see, you have to exit to DOS first (ALT-F4 or FN-Option-F4 on Mac), then type CD games, then CD quake, then quake, then ESC, then Multiplayer, then either Create New Game or Join Game, and use Direct Connect, keep settings same and you're in!

Purina Is The Same Brand That Switched Their Formula Last Time We Had An Egg Shortage “I don't consider myself a conspiracy theorist, but hear me out on this one. On our farm, if you don't produce something that produces something for the farm and you're of no use to me. You're normally food. Um, so I was getting ready to replace my entire flock of about 30 chickens because they were not laying it. Freeloading on the farm is not something that you can do. I don't have the space nor the time nor the money. So for a long time, we've been feeding organic Purina, um, you know, pellets, crumbles. You can hear Larry, my rooster. And I wasn't getting anything all winter. And I would say, like, oh, it's just the winter, what have you. Then I switched over to a farmer's feed that is mostly whole grains and has some grit in it and, um, is cheaper. So we decided to try it out because I'm not willing to just say something's gonna work, Um, but he's by far cheaper than any of the feeds. We doubled production in the 1st week. This isn't a lot of eggs, but when you're getting 0, this was this this is, like, a couple of hours, and it's been snowing. So it turns out it wasn't the weather. It was absolutely the feed. And why has that become a problem more recently?

This is from today's #WCWS game. This was ruled a base hit when it happened (you can see the 'H' pop up), but was changed to a missed catch error by the first baseman at the bottom of the fourth. This is an impossible catch for the first baseman with a ball thrown from that angle, that hard. This throw has to be to the glove, and while it's not a wild throw, it's low enough that the first baseman cannot get her glove around it in time. This is where replay gets you in trouble. The slo-mo replay makes it look like it's a catchable ball, but it isn't. In real time, at live speed, this isn't an error. This isn't a missed catch or a drop. I was loving the call of a single, especially because it was the first hit, and then, when it was changed, it felt like it was to protect a no-hitter. Everything about this screams "above ordinary effort" ... I would have left this as a single.

#5 You can't steal any cars and you can only enter from the left side of the car There's only one animation to enter the car and that's from the left side, during some in-game missions you aren't even allowed to get out of the car and explore the open world like this one here, I tried getting out of the car to walk on foot but the game didn't allow me to. This is because the Open World of MindsEye is extremely restricted, the Game doesn't want you do explore so it either forces you to move from point A to point B with a timer and most of the times it asks you to enter a car and you can't get out of it once you're inside the vehicle.

Stop Pushing With Your Back Leg As I trained to throw harder, I thought I needed to create a ton of momentum down the mound and really push off the rubber. That was actually holding me back from gaining pitching velocity for a couple reasons. The first reason was that pushing made it really hard for my pelvis to fire because it put me in a worse position instead of a better one. When I was pushing, it also made me fly open. The fix was thinking about keeping everything back and letting the pelvis rotate instead of pushing with my back leg. Most of your linear momentum comes from the drift and the drop in your delivery and the back leg. The back leg does have a role in building linear momentum, but its more important role is putting you in a good position to rotate. To create separation between your pelvis and your rib cage. That separation is what gives you true hip to shoulder separation that you can actually fire from.

Q: Is there a more blatant copy of a game than Giana Sisters? A: Does the sun rotate around the earth? I was trying to think of a game that was a more obvious copy of the "original" (in this case Mario Bros.), but I always come back to Giana Sisters. It didn't bother me back then, doesn't bother me now - I still think it's a great game! I am pretty sure that anyone who had a C64 back then played Giana Sisters ❤️😂
