It’s wild how many people think basic adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist on the highway is the same thing as Full Self-Driving. Nah, this is self-driving (FSD V14).

My sister visiting from CA said the same thing … so many of her friends are convinced lane keeping is the same thing and their cars “drive themselves” … I think this confusion will be exploited by car companies not wanting to put in the work for real self driving and try to convince their less sophisticated solutions are the same thing. Sadly, many people will blindly buy this falsehood and not know any different.

Yeah. Way too many people think this is the same thing as Tesla's FSD.

It’s because they’ve never experienced FSD. I see it every day doing Uber. It’s generally not malicious, just uninformed.

I used FSD 14 in my Cybertruck yesterday evening to go to the grocery store. It hesitated for a few seconds on a right hand turn. I thought FSD was not working. Then I saw a person on a bicycle with no lights or reflectors crossing the street. I did not see him because it was dark, but FSD saw him and took the right action. Much safer way to get around!

This is an excellent reason why Tesla must advertise. They want people to buy FSD, but aren't willing to tell people it is out there to buy. And how much safer it is. So frustrating. "My uncle's cousin's Suburban does that too..." No, no it does not.

Tell us what remaining issues 14.1.7 has

Curious why 14.1.4 was released but 14.1.7 never made it

The gap between basic driver assistance and real FSD is massive. People won’t understand it until they experience autonomous decision-making in real traffic it’s a completely different category of technology.

Night. Day.

Can’t even count how many time people tell me, “oh my car can do that too” … no, no it can’t

Just had my worst drive on 14.1.4 -Followed lead car to shoulder when it pulled over. -Attempted left turn from right lane. -lft signal use on hwy to indicate it wasn't getting off on ramp. -stopped too far from light to trip sensor. -leaves! -80mph in standard w/passing on rgt +

My tesla drives itself (FSD14) better than most humans, parks herself, and updates over Wi-Fi.⚡️

All you really have to do to shut up these morons who think that Blue Cruise, Super cruise and even Mercedes piece of shit, incredibly limited level 3 ADAS is equivalent to or better than FSD is tell them: “Try to put in a destination, click one button and have it take you there.” End of story.

A Big Mac and a filet mignon are both beef dishes. And they are both great. But they are not remotely “the same.”

Who thinks that? I’ve never seen anyone say that.

I know. Have this discussion many times. Most have no clue

I can’t stand this one friend I have that every time I go to his house he says his electric Ford is full self driving just like my Tesla. It makes me want to tear my hair out 😂

Duh fsd gotta be free for now people have the bad taste of past

When living in the EU, that’s just a fact….. we want FSD now!

Yeah, they have no idea that Tesla's FSD is actually an end-to-end solution and makes intelligent decisions.

💯

You are right. I am from Germany and most of my family and friends in Germany have no clue. They say my BMW has adaptive cruise control and the one on Tesla is way worth. I am not surprised they don’t allow FSD over there. It’s all about protecting the car industry!

That’s because they aren’t educated at all with what this technology actually means..also you know what’s even funnier? Tesla’s basic autopilot still has a better lane assist than any other manufacturer even with their radar’s/lidar’s tech..🤭🤭🤫

I’ve argued with people who talk about select highways they can use it on. I tell them I can find a gravel road in the middle of nowhere and my car can drive better than a human

Most people are quite stupid

Agree. I constantly hear, oh my car does that... Okay... I'm a walking Tesla infomercial.

Yep! Heard it a few times.

Even the Australian 60 min people.

@RealJimChanos ahem

Best reply: “my car does that”. 🫠

It’s like when people tell me they know what having kids is like because they have cats.

For other car manufacturers it’s a positive direction, but miles and possibly decades behind.

Not the same at all! Crazy when I ask Tesla owners if they use FSD, many ask what is that? They mostly do know about Autosteer though. Having both, Autosteer is severely Meh…

It’s hard to comprehend if they’ve never tried it before.

FSD is so underrated

That cause Tesla is not running ads

It's because of the name - autopilot ≠full self-driving- confusing
