This causes more microplastics to leach into the drink A 2024 study found an average of 240,000 plastic particles per liter in bottled water, with 90% being nanoplastics (smaller than 1 micrometer) and 10% microplastics (1-5 mm) What’s happening here with these drink bottles being left in the sun behind stores is very common, I’ve shared multiple videos of this same thing happening. It happens with sports drinks and water bottles
