I tested a build with equal stats to the steam machine and it cost an extra $40, but the steam controller is $100 and you can get a keyboard and mouse for like $30, I'd say its a wash

Would it be though? What if you wanted to get in on the Steam Summer Sale? What if the game you want to try isn’t on Xbox or Playstation. Then what? It’s hard to objectively say a used console is a better deal because everyone has different wants and needs from their gaming system.

Well in today's gaming landscape we pretty much have our systems. So anything coming out in the next few years won't be worth buying. Unless this AI ram apocalypse cool down. Value should have release this around when they released the OLED Steam Deck.

you can find better PC deals than this either for the same price but better specs or higher priced but much better specs. Valve just capitalized on those that will pay for novelty box that struggle to play any game that requires more than 8gb of vram

Most modern high end devices can talk to each other wirelessly. My TV turns on when my PC does. My controller can wake the PC and everything else.

unfortunately I've been forced to play sports IRL. I only play PC games a couple hours a week these days (at 4k). Its not the price, its the specs. I could never justify buying a console which has no longevity at all. Maybe it plays 1440 med now, but for how long.

Fam I have an older IMAC with a raedon graphics card 2019 edition. It can run most games on Low to medium settings at at least 720-900p. You can buy a Mac mini for 600 that run games at 1080-1440p at low to medium settings. This isn’t a flex how you think it is. You got scammed

Okay. And guess what? It’ll still look good because no one sits 3ft from a 65” TV lol. 1440p on a 65” TV at ~8-10ft away still looks great. Plus, your TV will end up scaling the image to 4k anyway and depending on the model that scaling can also look pretty decent. It’s made to do that.
