The bridge was an important logistical artery for supplying the Russian army in the south direction and within Russian-occupied Crimea. After strikes on the bridge, Russia sent repair brigades. In the audio, you can hear an officer trying his best to get the traffic stopped going over the bridge as the ship approached. Thanks to some heroic officers, some of the traffic was cut off, but unfortunately some cars and workers still remained on the bridge when it collapsed.
