Rescuing Nalanda's famous library. Scholars from Tibet, China, Cambodia, Mongolia, and other places regularly visited Nalanda University to translate the books in its library. This is a precious collection of India's original knowledge that was highly sought after by everyone in the world. Later on, Muslim invaders burned down the entire library of Nalanda. When the Dalai Lama came from Tibet to India in the 1950s, he brought back several hundred Tibetan translations of these works. Infinity Foundation Infinity Foundation gave a grant to Columbia University 20 years ago to translate into English some of the most important books in Nalanda University that were burned by Muslim invaders centuries ago. That project has continued since then as a result of our foundation's historic role in the revival of Indian knowledge.

Impact After Term | 15 : TVA's Tamil Digital Library — Bringing Tamil's Civilisational Knowledge to the Digital Age Established by Kalaignar in 2001 to enable the Tamil language to thrive in the Internet era and promote Tamil learning across the world, the Tamil Virtual Academy has spearheaded several pioneering digital initiatives. Among its most significant has been the Tamil Digital Library—created to preserve centuries of Tamil literature, manuscripts, archival records and cultural resources in digital form, while making them freely accessible to students, researchers and Tamil communities worldwide. Following the formation of the DMK Government in 2021, the Tamil Digital Library underwent a significant transformation. As Minister for Finance and Human Resources Management, Dr. PTR allocated ₹96.65 lakh in the 2022–23 Budget to accelerate the digitisation of rare books, manuscripts and archival collections. After assuming charge as Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, he oversaw the next phase of its expansion, broadening both its scale and public accessibility. Today, the Tamil Digital Library hosts over one lakh rare books, manuscripts, journals and historical records. Nearly 19.89 lakh pages have been digitised, including over eight lakh palm-leaf manuscript pages, thousands of rare photographs and hundreds of hours of archival audio-visual material—creating one of the largest digital knowledge repositories dedicated to an Indian language. The initiative also placed a strong emphasis on accessibility. With an allocation of ₹1 crore for the Inclusive Digital Library, access was expanded for persons with visual impairments. During Dr. PTR's tenure as Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, 12.85 lakh pages were converted using OCR technology, while 1.30 lakh pages were made available in accessible formats such as DOC, EPUB, DAISY and Braille-compatible editions. The initiative was further expanded through a series of dedicated digital knowledge platforms, including Tamilar Thagaval Attruppadai, the Digital Cultural Atlas and Kalaignar Karuvoolam. During this period, the complete digitised works of 38 eminent Tamil scholars, literary figures and leaders were also made publicly accessible, alongside thematic digital collections preserving Tamil Nadu's literary, political, social and cultural history. Mogulaiah was seen working at a construction site in Turkayamanjal near Hyderabad. Darshanam Mogulaiah was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2022, the fourth highest civilian award in India, for reinventing the rare musical instrument, the 'Kinnera'. Mogulaiah said, "One of my sons suffers from seizures. For medicines for both my son and myself alone, I need at least ₹7,000 a month. Then there are regular medical tests and other expenses." The artist said, "My monthly ₹10,000 honorarium sanctioned by the state government was discontinued recently. I'm not sure why it happened. He claims that along with the ₹1 crore grant, the state had also announced the allotment of a 600-square-yard plot in Rangareddy district for the artist. However, the allotment is still pending. Today marks a historic milestone in the perpetual ethos of cooperation and unity between the esteemed states of Bharat, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. I am immensely grateful for the gracious gesture of Karnataka Government, in handing over the Kumki elephants to Andhra Pradesh at the prestigious Vidhana Soudha. This is not just an administrative formality, but a testament of cooperative federalism. These trained Kumki elephants play a crucial role in mitigating the loss of human lives and crop damage caused by wild elephant attacks resulting from human-wildlife conflict in Andhra Pradesh. What makes this even more special is the spirit in which it was done. The moment our state raised the proposal, the response from the Karnataka Government was swift, respectful, and above politics. This video clip is of Khanapur BJP MLA Mr. Vittal Halgekar, during the function of Veer Bhoomi Inauguration of Rayanna at Nandgad khanapur, Karnataka recently just 2 days back when Honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka visited the place. This clip is circulating a lot in Karnataka. There was lot of analysis done by media on the speech saying that, How can a Karnataka MLA speak in a government function in other language, rather than speaking in Kannada? Was the right of MLA denied to him by not allowing him to speak in Marathi? Many BJP Blind Bhakts praised him also for speaking saying Jai Maharashtra slogans. Many people from the crowd started shouting speak in kannada. But here are my views of his speech and the whole function :- Belagavi has always been a point of discussion due to border issue and languague Marathi- kannada issue past many years. Due to which the developement of this area is been hampered sighting law and order. Whereas Hubli Dharwad compared to Belagavi has been growing fast. Education, infrastructure, Health care, Business etc. The whole point for me here is not what language he is speaking. For me language is always a means of communication but the SAD part is he is not able to communicate also. He is an MLA representing two and half lakh people, he has certain responsibilities he couldn’t t speak infront of his own people, ministers and most important infront of the CM. Abbey Library of Saint Gall, Switzerland 🇨🇭 - one of the oldest collections in Europe, but also possibly the most beautiful..... According to the Abbey of Saint Gall’s website (Abtei St. Gallen in German), the earliest evidence of a library collection on the site dates back to around 820 AD (many of its 160,000 priceless texts are nearly that old), in plans that show a library attached to the main church. It's a moment for collective resolve to ensure justice for those who lost their lives and for their grieving families by bringing the perpetrators to justice. Among the list of victims were: Shri Manjunath from Chikmagalur. Shri Bharat Bhushan from Bengaluru. I spoke to both the wives of the deceased, Pallavi and Sujata, this morning. They are at present safe, but they are worried about the future. I spoke to the KPCC, and the Cabinet has deputed Labour Minister Santosh Lad. He said that he met two members of the family and their children. He also met nearly 200 tourists from Karnataka there in various hotels and arranged flights to return to Bangalore. I have also requested J&K CM Umar Abdullah to make arrangements for those who are not in touch with their respective states. Yesterday night, I spoke to our Home Minister; he promised me that he will take care of all those people. I offer my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and their loved ones in the tragic incident. The summer season has started, and tourists have started visiting the region. Tourism is also the biggest source of income for Jammu and Kashmir. They are dependent on that income. But due to this attack, Shri Omar Abdullah has told me that this year the economy has collapsed. The Government of India is ruling there, as it's a Union Territory, still not declared as a state. So the response would be from the Government of India. In this moment, we are all one with the government. Together we have to fight. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Director General of Police Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, DIG Srinagar South Shri P.K. Singh, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Senior Superintendent of Police Leh, Shri Sanjay Kumar, CO 79, Shri Rajat Jain, CO 25, and other senior officials. The officials briefed the Lt Governor on the latest security scenario and the measures undertaken to maintain peace and stability in the region. The Hon’ble Lt Governor lauded the relentless efforts of security forces and the civil administration in restoring normalcy over the past week under challenging circumstances. He also expressed appreciation for the patience and cooperation shown by the people of Ladakh. The Hon’ble Lt Governor further assured that very soon all restrictions imposed as precautionary measures will be lifted in a phased manner once the situation fully stabilizes. “Peace and development are the top priorities of the administration. We built this 2BHK 500 Sqft house in Kanyakumari with the panels. 5 Tonnes of plastic waste get stored in the walls and roofs of this building forever. The house was built in 5 days with our pre fabricated panels The 8'x4' panels come together in a tongue and groove joint, and then fastened with adhesives and stainless steel nails to become walls and roofs of the house. Each 4 inch thick panel weighs only 85 kgs. These pre-fabricated panels and everything else required for building the house, arrives at the site neatly packed in a single truck. The construction does not use water. Steel square angles are used as a girder, that rests on the load bearing walls to support and hold-fasten the roof panels. Cement fibre boards -bison boards are fastened to the walls after installation. This cover is important to - A. Provides a shield to the UV rays from sun B. Offers fire resistance of 90 minutes to the walls C. Offers a ready surface to paint. The micron thick tiny flakes of MLP when layered in the thermal sheets, offer a great screw holding capacity.
