Do Spotfixes Sustain? See this 45-Day Inspection Report from Lavelle Rd, where the footpath was reclaimed from filth & urination on Sept 7, 2025- not only has it stayed clean, it is being maintained by Blr Central City Corpn & Bowring Club. This was a surprise inspection (not a set-up), and those who live nearby and walk here everyday can vouch for it. SORRY to all the cynics who expected and predicted otherwise. People are not inherently 'bad' - they respond to the environment. It's great to see all stakeholders step up and take charge of this important footpath in Blr city centre. When arunpai.theblrwalksguy announced the mega 26km New Year Day Walk from Jayanagara to Yeswanthapura, the buzz was palpable on the WhatsApp group - more than 700 joined. With my experience and considering its 7AM on Jan 1st, I figured a 100 will actually show up. To my utter surprise and joy, 300+ were there and came from koramangala, whitefield even yelahanka as you can see in the video! The walk is still on, almost reaching the destination with many of them determined to walk all the way. Arun’s Bengaluru history anecdotes and the conversations with strangers united for the cause and the unmatched beauty of our city makes it a great experience. I see #Walkaluru as a mass movement for pedestrian rights and a unique way for citizens to collaborate with civic authorities, parenting with them to make our city walkable and acknowledging their work. From poura karmikas to Chief Secretary everyone felt a degree of ownership and that’s just amazing. Kudos to arunpai.theblrwalksguy and his team for taking on this mission and making everyone a part of it. Kudos to every one that joined. As a senior citizen told me at 6:45AM this morning, attitude about footpaths changed once Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS started walking as soon as he took over. I tend to agree!

B.PAC has lodged a formal complaint with the Greater Bengaluru Authority regarding the indiscriminate littering of dog food in public spaces and residential areas. Such practices leave streets unhygienic, attract pests, and increase the risk of disease, affecting the health and well-being of both residents and animals. A humble request From a Concerned Citizen of Koramangala 🙏 A citizen reported this and she said she live in the area. Her first spot in the morning at 7am is this ox chewing on food and plastic. She stepped out at 2am today for a walk and was surprised to see the ox spends so many hours here from night till early morning. While she is very glad the animal is getting the unused food, she request @deobbmp to cast some rules where food can be separated from the plastic bags - so both things serve their equal purpose. She also suggested that which are mention below 1. Making a designated area in the same street/or the back side (under a tree) where a drum can be placed. All brands can dump the unused food in the drum. They can collect plastic waste in plastic bags, but keep these bags out of reach of animals. 2. Specify timings of the drum. 12am-5am Between 5-6am municipality picks the leftover and then it goes to bin, not directly. 3. The staff working here are responsible for cleaning the branch out before closing. Allotting one of the staff to collect waste or leftover in one bucket through the day, so EOD dumping in common drum becomes hassle free. . Drunk Driving Chaos in Koramangala Leaves Trail of Destruction On 25th May 2025, at around 1:30 AM, a shocking incident of reckless drunk driving took place in Koramangala, right opposite Jyoti Nivas College, Bengaluru. A heavily intoxicated driver, reportedly returning from a late-night party, lost control of his vehicle and rammed through police barricades at high speed. The driver showed absolutely no regard for public safety as he crashed into multiple vehicles on the road, injuring several people in the process. The situation escalated further when the car directly collided with a police officer on duty, causing serious injuries. Several members of the public were also hurt as the vehicle swerved recklessly through the crowded area. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver was "drunk beyond control" and appeared completely unaware of his surroundings. The scene resembled pure chaos, with damaged vehicles, injured civilians, and police scrambling to bring the situation under control. This incident raises serious concerns about the enforcement of drunk driving laws and the overall safety of Bengaluru's streets during late hours.
