In continuation of the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce clean up enforcement operation to rid the State of criminal elements, the Agency set out at about 0130hrs on Wednesday, 20th August, 2025 and embarked on its ongoing clean up enforcement operation at Agidigbi area and Ikeja GRA in Lagos. During the operation, 75 suspects were arrested, comprising 68 males and 7 females. Substances suspected to be illicit drugs were recovered at the scene. In the course of the exercise, one of our officers, Inspector Omosanjo Mohamed, was violently attacked by hoodlums and sustained a serious head injury. He is currently receiving medical treatment. Major routes raided includes; Awolowo Way up to Falomo round about, Ikoyi and Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, along Lekki road. The sheds were removed and taken away by the enforcement team, restoring sanity to the area. Our operatives will continue monitoring to prevent their return. #ZeroToleranceLagos

48 hours after carrying out coordinated raids of drug gangs perpetrating drug deals and related crimes in Gowon estate, the Taskforce, returned to 31 Rd and the adjoining streets of Wole Omo Osho, Bless Jah, Adenle Crescent and Okunola Rd in Mosan-Okunola LCDA in Alimosho LGA in a mop up exercise for the most extensive clean up operation to end the activities of drug peddling and use in the entire area. The operation which commenced at about 1800hrs of Thursday 28th November, 2024, led to the arrest of 43 suspected sellers of illicit substances and criminal elements who have converted the entire area into a safe haven for unlawful drug activities. A significant mix of different illicit drugs, viz a viz substances suspected to be Kanedian Loud Hemp, prescription drugs, Codeine Syrups, several Weighing Scales of illicit substances, Indian Hemp Crushers and knives were recovered from the suspects. Neighbouring shop owners who conspires and conceal the illicit drugs for the peddlers and same recovered in their shops were arrested while those in whose shops nothing incriminating was found were warned to concentrate on what is displayed for sales at their various shops and never to join in such illegal act. Also, all makeshift/ shanties used for the drug activities around the entire area were demolished during the operation and operatives were deployed with blackmaria stationed for sustenance. SAPS have confiscated counterfeit high-end clothing items worth over R15 million during an operation conducted in the Durban CBD on Thursday morning. At least four suspects, who are all foreign nationals, have been arrested in the operation, which is still ongoing. The suspects' immigration status in the country is yet to be confirmed. Once processed, the suspects will be taken to court to face charges related to the possession and distribution of counterfeit goods.
