Maybe we should start to educate the local population not to throw trash in the lakes. And also have better trash collection where people live.

This will do great things for the area, but the bigger picture is that you need to fix the companies that make all this plastic, and the people that throw it wherever they please.

Would you be able to destroy the plastic with lasers to such a low level that it has no impact

Maybe tell the locals to not be slobs?
