GE90 thrust reverser ops test from the side and rear. You can see the blocker doors swinging into place. That big fan sleeve slides aft, cascades open up, and those blocker doors fold in to shut off the normal bypass path. Fan air gets forced forward through the cascades instead of going straight out the back. Core still pushes aft like normal.

A China Eastern pilot used the A350's thrust reverser to reverse the aircraft on the bay as it hit the jet bridge. Using the thrust reverser of an A350 to reverse the aircraft would be the first time I have seen this. 2 May 2026, Shanghai Airport. Why did he use the thrust reverser twice? Why not just set the brake after the first time?

What you’re seeing in this footage is one of the most aggressive controlled descents ever engineered into a military aircraft. The C-17 Globemaster can actually deploy thrust reversers while still in the air… something almost no other jet transport can safely do. When those massive engines flip into reverse thrust, the physics of the aircraft changes instantly. It's always fascinating to watch the outflow valve (OFV) close during takeoff. This marks the beginning of the aircraft’s pre-pressurisation cycle. While it does provide a smoother transition to pressurised flight and improves passenger comfort, its main purpose goes beyond that. The primary reason for closing the outflow valve at takeoff is to prevent a slight pressure bump that occurs during aircraft rotation. At high angles of attack, an air cushion effect forms over the aft outflow valve, which can cause a momentary reverse airflow - potentially pushing air back into the cabin through the OFV. This pre-pressurization prevents FOD from being blown into the cabin, and this is also the reason the airplane lands with a slightly pressurized cabin. #FunFact

The sequence of events in this flight simulator clip is incredibly satisfying to watch. It starts with a tight, precise turn, followed by reverse thrust to reposition the aircraft for departure. The oleos compress and rebound beautifully over the deck before the aircraft powers into a full-throttle takeoff from one of the shortest "runways" imaginable. ✈️⚓

No, this video is not in reverse. An officer from the Caledon OPP Traffic Enforcement Uniit stopped this vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign while cruising in reverse. Although the driver did technically stop, it was in the middle of an intersection, which is not the appropriate place to stop. The driver was charged accordingly. Caledon OPP would like to remind motorists that posted stop signs apply to both vehicles traveling in forward and reverse. Vehicles are required to stop at the marked stop line, and if one does not exist, then the nearest crosswalk or before entering the intersection. #CaledonOPP Town of Caledon #DriveSafe #DriveLegal ^rb

This may be the longest reverse I have seen Tesla FSD do for me. I was dropping a passenger off at a "local motel", all the way in the back where there is a big fence separating the motel from an industrial junkyard and no easy way to get back out. Tesla FSD v14.2.2 did an amazingly long reverse, all the way through the front gate and then turn around to get on our way to the next passenger. Every day there seems to be something new from Tesla FSD that I see while doing Uber in Houston that just amazes me.

Jet engine Thrust test✅🔥🚀: Finally we have the data we need, at 100% throttle alone, the engine generated thrust of 7.2KG to 7.8KG (76.5 Newtons) At 100% throttle plus Afterburner it soared to 14KG to 16KG, I saw it peak at 18KG, but we'll take the average at 16KG thrust (157 Newtons) For this scale & build, I am a bit satisfied with the performance, although if I ditch the cooling design on the exhaust the thrust will increase significantly, but the exhaust will glow red hot, so we had to trade some thrust for better cooling for the engine. All the same, I am satisfied with the engine performance at this scale. I look forward to our runway tests⚡️ #Zedora #madeinEbonyi #madeinNigeria 🇳🇬

(Before anyone comments, yes, the L-1011 can carry 412...) On This Day in 1985: British Airtours Flight KT 101, a Tristar, overran the runway on landing at Leeds Bradford Airport (England). There were no fatalities among the 412 aboard. Enquiry pointed issues such as restricted thrust reverse performance and runway condition as factors in the accident. More info⬇️ Accident cause from the ASN site "The accident report concluded that the overrun was caused by the inability of the aircraft to achieve the appropriate level of braking effectiveness due to restricted thrust reverse options and recommended that both the scheduled wet runway performance of the TriStar and the condition of the surface of runway 14 at Leeds Bradford Airport should be re-examined"

In case you missed yet another gem from AIR INDIA — An Air India Express aircraft departing from Oman to Kannur mistook the runway edge lights for the lights on the centre of the runway and started to take-off from the edge of the runway on May 15, damaging multiple runway edge lights. The crew aborted the take-off only after a cockpit alert and a loud bang inside the aircraft. The accident also caused a hydraulic leak and a flat tyre, leaving the aircraft disabled and grounded.
