🚨WATCH THIS CAREFULLY… Bookmark for later. You want to see this. An AH-64 Apache just erased another Iranian attack drone from the sky. You can hear the crew calling it out… “Target destroyed.” Seconds later… another one. Destroyed. These aren’t large aircraft. They’re single-prop attack drones… the kind Iran and its proxies have been flooding the region with. Small. Cheap. Hard to detect. But incredibly dangerous. Many of these drones have operational ranges pushing 2,000 kilometers. Think about that for a second. Two thousand kilometers. That means a drone launched from deep inside hostile territory can travel across borders… across seas… and still reach major cities. Which raises a few very serious questions… Where exactly are these drones being launched from? Who is supplying them? Who is coordinating the targeting data? Because a drone doesn’t just magically know where a refinery… port… airport… or city skyline is located. Someone is feeding coordinates. Someone is providing guidance. Someone is directing these strikes. And now American-made AH-64 Apache helicopters are in the air hunting them down one by one. The Apache isn’t just a helicopter… It’s a flying battlefield computer. Longbow radar. Infrared targeting. Night dominance. Hellfire missiles. 30mm cannon. Designed for one purpose… Find the threat. Lock it. Erase it. In this footage you can literally hear the moment the drone disappears from the sky. “Target destroyed.” But the real question remains… Who keeps sending them? Because every drone shot down tells us something important… There is an entire launch network somewhere behind it. Launch sites. Operators. Command signals. Targeting data. And until that network is exposed… The drones will keep coming. Watch the clip closely. This is modern warfare in real time. Cheap drones… versus the most advanced attack helicopter on earth. And right now… the Apache is winning. #ApacheHelicopter #DroneWarfare #SilentMajoritySpeaks #AStoneGroove

INDIAN ARMY CHIEF GENERAL UPENDRA DWIVEDI’S PRACHAND SORTIE UNDERSCORES INDIAN ARMY’S EVOLVING COMBAT ROLE In a strong endorsement of indigenous capability and operational readiness, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bengaluru, to review indigenous aerospace capabilities and ongoing Army Aviation projects. The visit showcased key platforms such as the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv and the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand, along with the upgrade, maintenance and production ecosystems supporting Army Aviation, highlighting India’s growing strength in this critical domain. During the visit, the COAS undertook a sortie in the LCH Prachand, gaining first-hand experience of its superior performance and combat capabilities. The sortie served as a clear affirmation of the platform’s operational effectiveness and its critical role in delivering decisive aerial firepower in the tactical battlefield, while also reinforcing the Indian Army’s continued push towards Aatmanirbharta in defence. The contemporary battlespace is increasingly dominated by drones, loitering munitions, unmanned aerial systems and counter-drone systems, extending the battlespace beyond the ground into the low-altitude airspace above key battle areas. This has brought the Air Littoral into sharp operational focus. Recent conflicts have underscored that dominance in this zone directly influences the tempo, survivability and outcomes of land battles, necessitating rapid, localised control and response by ground forces. It is in this context that Prachand assumes significance. Agile, precise and optimised to operate in all types of terrains, Prachand provides the Indian Army with a dedicated platform to play a decisive role in the increasingly contested lower airspace. India’s first indigenously designed attack helicopter, it has been specifically built for high-altitude warfare and can operate effectively in rarefied conditions exceeding 6,000 metres. Its advanced avionics, precision weapons and survivability features make it ideally suited for roles such as close air support, anti-armour missions and armed reconnaissance. The Chief’s sortie thus reflects a broader transformation - where indigenous capability, leadership intent and evolving doctrine converge to position the Indian Army as a key force in shaping outcomes in the air littoral battlespace.

‼️‼️🇺🇦🇺🇲 Faced with a rapidly depleting stockpile of Russian-made spare parts, Kyiv is preparing to permanently ground its aging Soviet helicopter fleet in favor of a Western aviation icon. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are officially planning to transition their Land Forces' Army Aviation fleet from Soviet-era platforms to American-made UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, according to Army Aviation Commander Brigadier General Pavlo Bardakov. In a recent detailed briefing, Bardakov highlighted that while Ukraine continues to maximize and heavily modernize its current fleet of Soviet Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters with Western weapons, navigation, and defense systems for ongoing operations, a complete transition is ultimately inevitable. The primary catalyst for this shift is logistical: the vast majority of vital components, units, and spare parts required to keep Soviet-designed helicopters airborne are manufactured exclusively in Russia. With these component lifespans bound to expire in the medium term and no viable replacement pipelines available, Ukraine has designated the versatile, combat-proven UH-60 Black Hawk as its primary future platform for both multi-purpose transport and tactical assault missions. This announcement marks a fundamental, long-term restructuring of Ukraine’s tactical air mobility doctrine, permanently severing its historical and technical dependency on Moscow's defense industry. By selecting the UH-60 Black Hawk as the future backbone of its Army Aviation, Kyiv is not just addressing a looming critical maintenance crisis; it is fast-tracking its full integration into NATO's operational logistics chain. While procuring, restoring, and maintaining a massive new Western helicopter fleet presents a staggering financial and training hurdle, it represents a non-negotiable step toward ensuring Ukraine’s long-term aerial sovereignty and post-war defense sustainability.

We got new Crimson Desert gameplay, showing off the combat, progression system and more of the world, and this game continues to look insane. Here are the highlights: - Multiple different weapon types including: Sword and shield, Spears, Greatswords, Axes, Dual-wield swords and ranged weapons such as guns - Use mounts during combat such as bears, mechs and dragons - Melee combat allows you to utilize actual martial arts and massive combos - Three playable characters, Cliff seems to mostly use melee weapons, a female is focused on magic and ranged weapons such as a rifle, and a male orc who serves a barbarian role. It does seem like you can mix and match abilities between them - You can grab, throw and kick enemies to create chains of attacks. Slide is another ability that can be chained with double jumps and kicks - Swap weapons mid combat and you can enhance weapnos with elements such as spark damage - A grapple hook can be used to scale up walls and swing into attacks - Progression is based on acquiring artifacts, which are found by defeating bosses and at the end of dungeons as well as hidden across the world - Some skills are earned by observing others use them out in the world - You can use a sort of helicopter blades umbrella to fly around the world - Buy, find or craft gear to use in combat. Gear is upgradeable as well - Crafting/Upgrading is highly detailed, for example you can go and mine for certain materials in caves, you will also need to hunt animals or defeat bosses for certain materials as well - Crafting materials can be obtained through quests and in hidden locations as well - Add special effects to weapons and armors at certain vendors such as Wizards - There are flying bosses that you will have to fight in the skies such as flying metallic birds that you can land on Crimson Desert is launching on March 19th on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Mac. Crimson Desert previews are here and overall, content creators are impressed with the game: - Open world is gorgeous, the game ran remarkably well on this PC build with no FPS drops (7900XTX GPU), the draw distance is insane - Crimson Desert does not hold your hand, there are genuinely difficult puzzles and no yellow paint to guide you, with a ton of mechanics in combat and exploration that all come together and are up to the player to use - Every single questline's cutscenes are motion captured and animated, it does not use generic animations (at least for main quests) - MMO roots from Black Desert are obvious, the skill tree is deeply involved and each build feels entirely unique - Combat is reportedly "really good" with a ton of complex mechanics and great animations - NPCs don't have schedules like a Kingdom Come 2 or Skyrim, they are mostly static but they will react to your actions and there is a full crimes system that you can mess with - You can set arrows on fires by aiming towards any source of fire then shooting, this is used in environmental puzzles. Another way to set things on fire is by pressing down both bumpers which causes Kliff to hold up his sword to reflect the sun's light onto things to set them on fire - Quest givers will contact you by sending a bird with a letter, this will happen naturally in the open world - Exploration is fantastic, each location is entirely unique and you can utilize all the different abilities in unique ways, for example you can launch yourself across a wall OR use a dragon to fly in OR climb it - Boss fights are very advanced, each one is unique with their design and movesets - Side Quests and Random Events are fun, some are as small as rescuing a cat from a rooftop, others are more major storylines - Some quest bugs were seen, but no optimization issues, when they were switched to an Endgame save, many reported a higher number of bugs and glitches but nothing game-breaking. - There are combat finishers and they are unique for each weapon type - Combos are available and they are unique for every single weapon type, there are many button combinations to apply these in combat - Some content creators complained that the puzzles were too confusing as they utilize a very specific ability at times and its hard to keep track of all the abilities that you have - You can buy food or cook it, or hunt and sell that meat - Content creators all loved it, they played 6+ hours and had fun, saying that they just want to play more afterwards - Controls however are described as complex and may be clunky as there are a many button combinations for unique actions It seems like Crimson Desert is shaping up to be a genuinely great game, we are yet to see console footage but if the amazing optimization for PC is anything to go by, we likely have little to worry about. Crimson Desert is dropping on March 19th, I cannot wait!

The U.S. unveils it's new F-47 stealth fighter, the centerpiece of the NGAD program, a "family of systems" designed to integrate advanced manned and unmanned platforms, including Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) drones. Announced by President Donald Trump alongside Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Allvin, the F-47 is described as the "most advanced, most capable, most lethal aircraft ever built." It reportedly builds on a prototype that has been secretly flying for nearly five years, suggesting significant testing and refinement prior to its public unveiling. The aircraft is engineered for speed, stealth, and adaptability, with a focus on countering advanced threats from nations like China, which has also been developing sixth-generation capabilities. Boeing’s victory over Lockheed Martin for the NGAD contract, valued at approximately $20 billion for the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase, marks a critical win for the company amid its recent struggles in defense and commercial sectors. The F-47 is expected to enter service in the 2030s, with each unit potentially costing upwards of $300 million, reflecting its cutting-edge technology. Its development emphasizes rapid adaptability to emerging threats, leveraging advanced manufacturing and an open architecture design to allow for continual upgrades. Since exact specifications remain classified or undisclosed as of now, the following are informed projections based on NGAD program objectives, statements from officials, and sixth-generation fighter trends. Designation: Boeing F-47 Manufacturer: Boeing Phantom Works Role: Air dominance fighter with multi-role capabilities (air-to-air and air-to-ground) Crew: Likely manned with optional unmanned configuration, aligning with sixth-generation flexibility Dimensions: Larger than the F-22 and F-35 to accommodate greater range and payload; exact size undisclosed but possibly exceeding 60 feet in length and a wingspan over 40 feet Powerplant: Expected to use adaptive cycle engines from the Next Generation Adaptive Propulsion (NGAP) program—either General Electric XA102 or Pratt & Whitney XA103. These engines feature a three-stream architecture, offering over 20% better fuel efficiency, increased thrust (potentially 45,000-50,000 lbf per engine), and enhanced electrical output for directed-energy weapons. Speed: Likely exceeds Mach 2 (super cruise capable—sustained supersonic flight without afterburners), surpassing the F-22’s Mach 1.8 super cruise Range: Combat radius projected at 1,000-1,500 nautical miles (unrefueled), tailored for Indo-Pacific operations, significantly greater than the F-22’s 600 nautical miles or F-35’s 670 nautical miles Stealth: Advanced stealth features, including a tailless design, next-generation coatings, and materials to reduce radar, infrared, and acoustic signatures beyond fifth-generation standards Payload: Larger internal weapons bays (possibly 20-23 feet long) to carry advanced munitions like the AIM-174, hypersonic missiles, and future cruise missiles, with external hardpoints available at the cost of stealth Sensors and Avionics: AI-enhanced sensor suite for unmatched situational awareness, integrating radar, infrared search and track (IRST), and electronic warfare systems; likely includes "smart skins" with embedded sensors for reduced drag and improved performance Networking: Maximum connectivity for real-time data sharing with satellites, drones, and other platforms, supported by a robust, jam-resistant data link Additional Features: Potential for directed-energy (laser) weapons to counter missiles and drones Integration with CCA drones for expanded mission options (e.g., extra munitions, electronic warfare) Open architecture for rapid upgrades and mission-specific customization Key Highlights Human-Machine Teaming: The F-47 is designed to "unlock the magic" of human-machine collaboration, pairing pilots with AI-driven systems and autonomous drones to enhance decision-making and reduce workload. Strategic Purpose: Built to penetrate contested environments, countering advanced air defenses and stealth fighters from adversaries like China, with a focus on long-range engagements over vast theaters. Development Timeline: Prototypes have been flying since at least 2020, with full operational capability targeted for the 2030s, replacing the F-22 incrementally as numbers grow. Cost and Scale: Estimated at $300 million per unit, with plans for roughly 200 manned aircraft, though this is a planning figure subject to change. The F-47’s exact design and full capabilities remain shrouded in secrecy, typical of NGAD’s classified nature, but its unveiling signals a bold step forward in U.S. air power. Its blend of stealth, speed, range, and technological integration positions it as a cornerstone of future aerial warfare, though its high cost and complexity will likely spark ongoing debate about affordability and strategic priorities. U.S. military technology will continue to dominate all other nations like it always has.

The Pokrovsk Blackhawk Down: A Failed NATO Hot Extraction Masquerading as Heroism A recent helicopter-borne incident in the besieged Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk—now 85-90% under Russian control—has been spun into two competing propaganda narratives, both of which conveniently miss the real story. Russian channels dismiss it as Zelensky’s delusional PR stunt: a suicidal waste of elite Ukrainian special forces dropped into a meatgrinder for a photo-op. Ukrainian sources, meanwhile, frame it as a daring airborne assault to reinforce trapped defenders and defy the Russian advance. Both are wrong. Sending 12–16 special operators (even if they were super-soldiers) into a city already encircled and largely lost changes precisely nothing on the battlefield. It’s not a tide-turner; it’s not even a speed-bump. The only accurate part of the Russian take is the desperation—but the desperation wasn’t Ukraine’s. It was NATO’s. What actually crashed in Pokrovsk was a classic hot extraction: a last-ditch, high-risk helicopter insertion to pull out high-value Western personnel—senior NATO special-forces officers and intelligence operatives who had been embedded in a joint Ukrainian–NATO command post on the edge of the city. The mission failed spectacularly. The Blackhawk was downed, the rescue team was wiped out, and the very people they came to extract are now either dead or in Russian hands. Moscow has every incentive to parade proof of captured or killed NATO officers. Irrefutable evidence of direct NATO combat involvement inside Ukraine—especially at the operational command level—would be a strategic earthquake, shattering the West’s “we’re only sending weapons” narrative once and for all. Even the usually pro-Ukrainian German journalist Julian “Jihadi Julian” Röpcke accidentally let the cat out of the bag when he posted footage of the operation with the caption: > “Glimpse into the ‘battle for Pokrovsk.’ The entire video, airborne operation and battle of the GRU special unit is about 2-3 occupied buildings that are technically not even inside the city limits. Gives an impression of what ‘would’ be needed to liberate the city. Won’t happen.” Those “2-3 occupied buildings” weren’t random strongpoints. They were the forward joint command center housing the NATO liaison team and senior Ukrainian officers coordinating the defense. Pokrovsk isn’t just another dot on the map. Its fall severs critical supply lines, cripples Ukraine’s steel industry (and thus its already strangled war economy), and collapses the entire Donetsk defensive front. Once it goes, the dominoes fall fast—Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, and the whole house of cards comes down. In military terms: FUBAR, followed by a fresh Russian-made meatgrinder for whatever forces Kyiv scrapes together for a counter-attack. This wasn’t about saving Pokrovsk. It was about saving NATO’s plausible deniability. And it failed. Credit > UK Military expert.

🚨🇷🇺🇮🇷 PENTAGON IN PANIC: U.S. BASES FACE RUSSIA’S UPGRADED SHAHED ATTACK DRONES U.S. bases across the Middle East face a more dangerous Shahed threat as reports indicate that Russia is returning battlefield-tested upgrades to the Iranian design. AP reported in March that upgraded Russian-built drones were being sent to Tehran, while Reuters later said Western analysts were examining whether Russian technology helped Iranian drones strike CIA facilities in Riyadh and eastern Iraq. 🔸 Iran originally supplied Russia with the Shahed-136 design. Russia then established mass production of its Geran-2 derivative and refined it through years of large-scale combat use. 🔸 Russian development work has produced Shahed variants with improved satellite navigation, stronger protection against jamming, new radio links, cameras and upgraded flight computers. Other versions have appeared with jet engines and onboard AI, although AP’s sources did not identify which variants were reportedly sent to Iran. 🔸 Reuters cited two Western officials who believed Russian-enhanced Shaheds were used in the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh. One drone reportedly opened a hole in the building before a second passed through it and detonated near the CIA station. No casualties were reported. 🔸 Western intelligence sources also claim Russia supplied Iran with the Kometa-M satellite-navigation module, designed to maintain greater accuracy under electronic attack. The Kremlin dismissed the report as “fake news.” 🔸 Faster and harder-to-jam drones create an expensive problem for defenders. Low-cost Shaheds can arrive in waves, forcing U.S. forces to consume limited stocks of missiles that cost far more than the targets they destroy. 🔸 AP’s sources could not confirm the number or exact type of drones involved. But access to Russian navigation, communications and anti-jamming upgrades could matter more than the size of a single shipment. Iran supplied the original design. Russia mass-produced it, improved it under years of battlefield pressure and may now be returning those lessons to Tehran. For U.S. bases, the danger is not one drone but repeated salvos that are harder to jam, faster to adapt and far cheaper than the missiles used to stop them. Do you think upgraded Shaheds could change the balance in the U.S.-Iran conflict?

The German People Need to Demand Accountability I start by saying there's something very suspicious in the German government's relations with the defense industry. A while back, I talked about 30mm and 35mm ammunition costing US$1,000 each and even more. I talked about the 4x4 Caracal costing US$600,000. How is it possible for a 4x4 without armor or any weapons to cost that much? I also talked about artillery ammunition reaching prices in the range of €3,500-€4,000 and even more. All made in Germany. Now comes the serious issue of the HX-2 drones. In 2024, Germany allocated about €300 million for the purchase of 4,000 units of the initial model, the HF-1. It turns out that published reports indicate that Ukrainian military considered the HF-1 expensive and ineffective compared to other solutions available in the field. The drone was built from plywood, which generated criticism about its durability and resistance in real combat environments. About 40% of the delivered units remained in stock unused at the end of 2025, signaling a low adoption rate by combat units due to the reported problems, one of them being the absence of AI. Although marketed as "intelligent," documents indicate that essential AI components for navigation and autonomous attack were missing in the delivered models. This fact alone should have triggered an investigation in Germany, but that's not what happened. The solution was to convert half of that contract to the more advanced model, HX-2. The result was the same or even worse. Although the company claims to have conducted tests in three countries, the results suggest at least fraud. In Ukraine, only about 25% of the drones managed to take off successfully due to mechanical failures in the launch catapult. This has nothing to do with battlefield interferences, but rather with the low quality of the delivered product, and it didn't stop there. Although designed to be immune to interferences, the drones suffered from Russian jamming, which resulted in frequent loss of connection with the operator. And the most serious is that another problem repeated itself, with the delivered HX-2 lacking essential promised Artificial Intelligence components, such as autonomous terminal guidance and visual target acquisition. All this resulted in a hit rate of about 1/3 of the launched drones. The German government still plans a direct contract of approximately €267.7 million to equip its new brigade in Lithuania with drones HX-2. I imagine that, given the current scandal, this will be interrupted. There's something very strange going on in the relations between the German government and the defense industry. I'm talking about many billions invested in a strange way and that people need to demand more transparency.

When the US glide bomb struck the IRIS Shahid Sayyad Shirazi near Qeshm Island on March 4, the impact triggered an involuntary event that nobody in the coverage has fully examined: the stricken corvette spontaneously launched one of its own anti-ship missiles. The weapon fired itself. Not as a last act of defiance from a crew executing a terminal order. The structural damage from the strike activated the launch sequence without human input. That detail is the most technically significant event in the naval dimension of this war. The Shahid Sayyad Shirazi is the third vessel of the Soleimani-class, the IRGC Navy’s most advanced surface combatant. Pennant FS313-03. Commissioned February 2024. The class was Iran’s answer to the problem of contested littoral warfare in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz: a wave-piercing catamaran hull approximately 65 to 68 meters in length, composite construction designed to reduce radar cross-section, four indigenous diesel engines producing confirmed speeds of 32 knots with promotional claims reaching 45, and an armament package that makes every other ship in its weight class irrelevant by comparison. Six anti-ship cruise missiles of the Noor, Ghadir, or Nasir class on deck launchers. A vertical launch system carrying between six and sixteen Sayad surface-to-air missiles plus additional cells for Abu-Mahdi long-range cruise missiles. Six 20-millimeter Gatling guns. A helipad for a medium combat helicopter. Capacity to deploy three fast-attack boats simultaneously. On a 600-tonne displacement hull. Iran built this ship specifically for the Hormuz chokepoint. The catamaran design provides speed and stability in the confined, shallow waters of the Gulf that a conventional monohull cannot match. The composite hull reduces the radar signature that adversaries need to acquire targeting solutions. The VLS integration gives a vessel of this size a defensive envelope against air attack that most navies reserve for ships four times the displacement. The speed and fast-boat deployment capacity fit exactly into the IRGC Navy’s doctrine of saturation from multiple simultaneous vectors. A US aircraft dropped a single glide bomb. The ship caught fire. It spontaneously launched a missile. CENTCOM confirmed the strike. Multiple cameras captured the burning hull offshore Qeshm Island with smoke rising through the Strait of Hormuz. The spontaneous missile launch is the detail that defines the engagement. A VLS or deck-launched anti-ship missile under normal conditions requires crew input, targeting data, and deliberate firing authorization. When a strike disrupts the electrical and structural integrity of the vessel sufficiently to trigger an unintended launch, the weapon system designed to protect the ship becomes a hazard launched into the Strait of Hormuz at whatever bearing the launcher happened to be pointing. Every tanker, patrol boat, or allied vessel within the weapon’s acquisition envelope during those seconds faced a missile fired by a ship that no longer had a crew in control of it. No second-order casualties were reported from the spontaneous launch. The missile either failed to acquire a target, impacted water, or flew a trajectory that missed occupied vessels. The outcome was fortunate. The mechanism was not controllable. Iran commissioned this ship fourteen months ago. It was designed to be their most dangerous surface unit in the world’s most contested waterway. It fired its own weapon at the waterway it was built to control before going down.

Blades of Fire | Hands-On Gameplay Impressions ▪️Recap: New action-adventure IP from MercurySteam (Metroid Dread, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow) ▪️Coming to PS5, Xbox and PC on May 22 ▪️Around 60-70 hours long to complete ▪️You play as Aran de Lira, a forger and warrior who, after suffering a personal tragedy, "finds himself in possession of a magic hammer that lets him enter the forge of the gods to create the only weapons able to defeat Queen Nerea’s forces" ▪️The world is "squarely in fantasy territory", "rich, overabundant, lavish fantasy, as well as occasionally brutal and twisted" ▪️Magic courses through a land teeming with flowers and buzzing with wildlife, and creatures like trolls and elementals romp around ▪️Soldiers sort of look a bit like the Locust from Gears of War, chunky, loitering around. The whole game feels like it has a "chunkiness" to it, a bit like Blizzard games (hands and arms are oversized, buildings/walls are double thick). Combines to make a pleasing visual picture and give a sturdy, hefty feel ▪️"Wildly customizable weapons saves it from being just another action game", "combat is refreshingly different" ▪️Combat: Rooted in directional attacks that use every face button on a controller. On a DualSense for example, Δ aims for the head, X goes for the torso, while ⏹️ and ⭕️ swipe left and right respectively ▪️An enemy holding up a blade to protect their face for instance, can be overcome by aiming low and skewering through their gut ▪️Example: A troll boss can have a second health bar that can only be chipped away after dismembering it. If you use your right hand attacks, you can cut off its club-wielding left arm or cut off its entire face, leaving it blind and aimlessly flailing until it can regrow its eyes back ▪️Your attack and dodge stamina must be manually restored by holding the block button instead of automatically regenerating ▪️You can swap between 4 different weapons on the fly, wield your weapons via different stances, either slashing with the sharp edge or thrusting with the pointed tip; assess enemies to determine which methods are the most effective ▪️Rather than finding new weapons out in the game world, every weapon's life starts in the Forge ▪️You can create up to 7 different weapon types, from twin axes to polearms ▪️You start with your choice of a basic weapon template and tweak and modify and name, for example you can adjust the length of a spear's pole and the shape of its spear head which affects its stats ▪️A longer pole increases the spear's range, while its head shape dictates if its better at slashing or piercing ▪️Different materials also affect a weapon's weight which has an effect on your stamina pool ▪️You then physically hammer out the metal in-game on the anvil through a "remarkably involved minigame", where you control the length, force and angle of every hammer strike ▪️There is a curved line onscreen that represents the ideal weapon, you arrange a series of vertical bars to try and match the shape of that curved line with each hammer strike. Overworking results in a weaker weapon. You're rewarded with a star rating, the more stars you get, the more you can repair your weapon before it permanently breaks ▪️You can instantly remake weapons you've made before to save time ▪️Some found the weapon forging system to be "frustratingly obtuse", as there didn't seem to be a clear connection between the areas struck and the resulting shape of the metal; hoping for better tutorial or improvements before launch ▪️MercurySteam wants you to feel deeply attached to the weapons you create and carry them with you for the duration of your journey ▪️If you die, you lose your weapon upon respawning, but you can go back to where you died to retrieve them ▪️After playing for 3 hours, some hands-on impressions were unsure if the game can support a variety of a 60 hour game ("within 3 hours I’d fought the same gatekeeping miniboss 3 times") ▪️Others also felt there were uneven difficulty spikes, the game chucks multiple types of enemies at you, sometimes in confined areas. Can sometimes feel like you waste precious weapons, rest at an anvil to reforge and then enemies respawn again ▪️One previewer noted that when they started slowing down and nosing through the game's menus and built-in tips to see what they were doing wrong, they learned the game's nuances and it clicked Previews IGN: Full IGN Gameplay: Mirror: Eurogamer: #BladesofFire

//The Wire//2300Z June 9, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: ATTEMPTED BEHEADING REPORTED IN IRELAND, RIOTS UNDERWAY. U.S. ARMY HELICOPTER SHOT DOWN IN GULF OF OMAN. KARMELO ANTHONY FOUND GUILTY OF MURDER.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Middle East: Overnight one U.S. Army AH-64 helicopter crashed feet-wet off the coast of Oman. Both the pilot and the co-pilot/gunner managed to egress from the aircraft, and were rescued two hours after the crash. At the time of the crash, CENTCOM did not disclose the reason for the incident, however this afternoon President Trump confirmed that this aircraft was shot down by Iranian forces. Analyst Comment: Two hours in the water is a long time in terms of Combat Search and Rescue, and it's a miracle that they were rescued. Of note, some sources are claiming that the rescue method for the downed aviators took the form of an unusual source...an American Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV). If this is true (which we may never know), this would be the first instance of an American drone boat being used for rescue operations in a combat zone. Northern Ireland: Yesterday evening an extremely graphic beheading attempt was reported on a residential street in Belfast. One Sudanese national attacked a local, gouging out his eyes with a knife and attempting to behead him. The exceptionally brutal attack was captured on tape, and the video circulated widely in the moments after the attack. The status of the victim remains unclear, but he is receiving medical care for his many wounds. The victim has not been identified by name, however he's reportedly from Scotland and also hard-of-hearing, leaving him more vulnerable to the attack. Analyst Comment: The attacker was initially hospitalized at The Mater, the main hospital in Belfast. It is unclear as to if the attacker is still physically located at this site, but he was spotted in the hospital by local intelligence networks as he was being given a medical exam post-incident. The suspect is most likely being held at the Musgrave Custody Suite on Victoria Street, which is one of the more protected sites in Belfast and can hold high-security detainees. Despite the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) not charging this individual under terrorism charges, there's a very high likelihood that the attacker would not survive the first night once other detainees found out what he did. The assailant was granted asylum status as a refugee a few years ago, though the exact nature of this legal status is not entirely clear. -HomeFront- Texas: This afternoon Karmello Anthony was found guilty of the murder Austin Metcalf. So far limited protest activity has been observed outside the courthouse. Analyst Comment: No big mobilizations or riots have been observed yet, however more significant efforts might take some time to organize as it's only a Tuesday. Too soon to tell if this is going to become a hot state of unrest, but seeing as tension has been building on this for a while, it could go either way. The next big decision point will be sentencing, which will be decided soon by the same jury. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: As one might expect, the situation in Northern Ireland has reached a boiling point. Mass riots are already underway as of this report (and likely planned for the next few weeks), as the Irish begin to organize and mobilize. Tonight, local paramilitary groups have requested all residents of Belfast to turn off their doorbell cameras, and PSNI checkpoints are already established around the city preparing for the events of the next few days. Concerning the site of the mutilation, the location of the attempted beheading has been host to violence before. This exact apartment building has been the site of violent murders in the past. In 2019, two bodies were found brutally murdered inside Kinnaird Close, with the trial for the murderer concluding a couple of years ago. Of note, the attack yesterday evening was halted by Irishmen who intervened to attempt to stop the murder. Matthew McKiernan (Gaelic spelling: Maitiu Mág Tighearnán) has been identified as the man who clubbed the African with a hurley stick, attempting to stop the attack. He and other pedestrians did what they could, but by the time they were able to intervene, exceptionally grave wounds had already been sustained by the victim. They did their best, but there was only so much they could do as taking care of the problem was not a viable option as police were seconds away from the scene and would have absolutely arrested citizens for continuing the counterattack on the African after they arrived. Nevertheless, the entire city of Belfast is calling for blood right now, and tonight they might just get it. For historical context, this brutal attack took place in one of the most contentious districts on Earth. Belfast was one of the epicenters of the Troubles in Northern Ireland, and the northwest quadrant of the city is still host to many "peace lines" to this very day. Granted, most of the old maps designating the Catholic/Nationalist/Republican (CNR) areas from the Protestant/Ulster/Loyalist (PUL) areas of the city are a bit outdated and not as strictly delineated in real life as it is marked on the map sometimes. Plus, the old history of political ideology, infamous organizations, and current political leadership is incredibly complicated. In short, neither side can rightfully point the finger at the other on this issue, because elements on both sides have resulted in furthering mass migration into Ireland. On the ground, this attack took place in a strong CNR community, right along a historic dividing line, so multiple communities have a vested interest in handling the situation. Even before sunset this evening communities which have quite literally killed each other over dividing lines, are at least beginning to acknowledge the seriousness of the current migration situation, while also acknowledging that singing songs and holding hands is still unlikely between Protestants and Catholics in many of these communities. Though the situation is incredibly complicated, when it comes to beheadings in the streets, the seriousness of the situation is stratifying along bigger lines than the history of the region. At his core, an Irishman is an Irishman, regardless of affiliation, and much like most of Western Civilization, the unofficial national sports are drinking, fighting, and blowing stuff up. As a result, there are solutions to these problems, if attention on all sides can be focused appropriately. There may indeed be more room for slight-cooperation between age-old factions which might have the chance to re-examine what lines of division are worth postponing for a time, as more pressing threats are already inside the fence....threats which are neither Catholic nor Protestant. Recently I got some hands-on time with Crimson Desert and below are my first impressions as well as some of the gameplay I was able to capture. Crimson Desert is a good game, but it won’t be for everyone. I know the devs claim this isn’t an RPG, but I don’t know any other way to describe this game other than a HARDCORE action RPG. If you need the yellow paint to know where to climb this game isn’t for you. But if you love getting lost in a whimsical world with a boat load of content this game is going to be right up your alley. I think what impressed me most is the attention to detail. There’s so many little things the dev team took into consideration that I think people who enjoy being immersed into a world are going to appreciate. Even if you aren’t that person; on a basic level I think most will enjoy the game's combat. It’s fast, fluid and provides a ton of player expression with its deep skill tree. The world of Pywel is vibrant, large in scale and full of life. It’s easy to get lost off the main quest line as there’s always something to do and someone to speak to. An example being I was wandering through the open world and encountered a distressed woman seeking help. I agreed to follow her only to find out moments later she was with a gang and they were trying to back door me. That had me cracking up. I think if the open world is consistently full of fun, unique side content like that & the main quest line is fire this game has a lot of potential to impress. It’s just a shame that I didn’t get to spend more time with the main quests as I kept getting side tracked with cool stuff to do in the open world. So I can’t give you much insight into that. What I can say is after the opening section there’s NEXT TO NO tutorials in this game, the puzzles are hard & the default controls are a bit clunky. You will be getting lost and I can see that frustrating some people who aren’t interested in a challenge. That’s why I mentioned earlier that this is a hardcore RPG. It does not do a lot of hand holding. Because of that I predict you and your friends will be sharing tips and tricks similar to when Elden Ring first launched and nobody knew what they were doing. If you are a patient person and take the time to learn the game's systems I promise you will be able to put together some awesome combos that will make you feel like the main character. My biggest fear for this game is that I won't finish it. Not because it’s a bad game, but I can just tell from my brief time with it that it’s next level massive. As someone who's been gaming for 30+ years it’s very rare you’ll hear me say a game was overwhelming, but this game is. For people who lack a ton of free time I can see that being a turn off because once again the game doesn’t give much direction or tutorials outside the opening area. Not to mention this game could be big just for the sake of being big. I was curious to know how much of the content was engaging versus just open world bloat? Hard to tell because I only got a few hours with the game. I also fear that the Ai isn’t the best in this game. The Ai issues I encountered zapped all immersion away for those moments. I’m not sure if the final build will differ from the vertical slice we played, but what I can tell you is that on the build we played I wasn’t impressed by the Ai. Several times I attacked enemy camps and they never reacted to me attacking them. They just stood there and took it which made the world feel less alive. There were also times where enemies were looking dead at me just standing still as the battle music played threatening to beat me up, but they never did anything. It was 3 or 4 times I encountered this poor Ai which is a red flag for me because I only got two hours of hands on time with the game. Mind you in those two hours a good portion of it was just me working my way through the prologue and the early quests, so I didn't spend a ton of time in the open world. What I'm trying to get at is the janky ai was very noticeable. It wasn't something that took long to find. I will say when the game works it's great, but when I tell you the Ai was bad at times it was bad. It reminded me of the dumb NPC’s often found in Ubisoft open world games. I’m not looking for this to be a Souls game but I want some level of challenge in the combat. Hopefully that stuff gets patched out. That being said, I’m confident in saying this game is good. I just didn’t have enough time with it to determine if it’s good, or GREAT. Only time will tell when Crimson Desert drops on March 19th, 2026 for the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. Pros —---------- - Combat makes you feel like demon - Deep Skill tree - Vibrant world - Solid voice acting - Fire OST - The little details (trust system, you can commit crimes ect.) - No Fall damage - Puzzles are creative & challenging - Game doesn’t hold you hand (some people will hate this) - You can swap in and out of 3rd and 1st person at will. Wasn’t able to explore much of how that changes the game, but it’s nice that it's an option. - EASILY over 100hrs of content (some will hate this though) Cons —---------- - Clunky controls (Default controls take some time adjusting too. I hope there’s other control schemes at launch) - Inconsistent Ai (Ubisoft bad at times. sometimes the enemies wouldn’t attack during combat or act like they never saw you) - Long load times (we were playing on PC’s, but idk the specs) - Your horse can faint & when they do traveling the large world wasn’t as fun (and I couldn’t figure out how to get him back - most likely a skill issue) - Early stamina management is OD. Early game it’s easy to drown & get tired running. I’d imagine it gets better late game, but early game it’s frustrating trying to explore. - Camera takes some getting used to in combat. Sometimes its too close and others too far. - Early arrows have no impact. Felt useless. Hoping later upgrades fix that
