Had he not run into Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln, Denzel would’ve undeniably won a second Oscar for Best Actor. Denzel is unhinged here- he’s just totally off the rails & his performance has so much range. This guy is just totally unpredictable as an actor & I cannot get enough. I love Flight.

The film won the Best Costume Design award at the 1957 Academy Awards. To date, Brynner is the only person to have won an Oscar for acting in a musical by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. He also played this role on stage and in a television adaptation.
