‼️ "People from the East are flocking to Belarus": Lukashenka threatens the EU with a new hybrid war Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenka, speaking today in a church for Orthodox Christmas, once again turned to threats against EU countries. This week brought us closer to finalizing the 19th sanctions package – we expect its approval soon. We will quickly synchronize the package in Ukraine. Russia’s energy resources are being restricted. The infrastructure of the “shadow fleet” will face new pressure. Cryptocurrency schemes used by Russia to bypass sanctions will also be countered by Europe. I am grateful that many of Ukraine’s proposals have been taken into account in the EU sanctions package. We now expect strong sanctions steps from the United States as well – Europe is doing its part. Everyone can now see Russian interference – against Poland, and yesterday against Estonia. These are not accidental incidents. Russia will continue trying to spread its aggression, destabilization, and interference. This is their system. This must be countered, also systemically, and together. I thank everyone who is helping.

I met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Kęstutis Budrys. This is his fifth visit to Ukraine in this role. I thank all the people of Lithuania for supporting Ukraine, as they have stood by Ukraine since the first days of Russian aggression. UN Member States should stop appeasing the regime with their votes and instead use this vote to send the world a message. I would encourage you to send the regime in Havana a message, and send the Cuban people a message. Stop using this vote to blame them and blame all of its economic problems on the United States. No government in history has ever made a communist economy work – even fellow socialist and communist states are urging Cuba to open its economy to its own people, allow its people to thrive. And the only thing equal about communism and socialism is that everyone is equally miserable and poor.

I welcome today’s recommendation by the European Commission to open EU accession negotiations with Ukraine. This is a strong and historic step that paves the way to a stronger EU with Ukraine as its member. I thank the EU and personally Ursula von der Leyen for supporting Ukraine on our road to the EU. Ukraine continues on its reform path and looks forward to European Council’s decision in December.

At 4am this morning the EU voted to provide a €90 billion aid package to Ukraine. This is a significant step forward to ensure Ukraine is NOT forced to capitulate to an indicted war criminal and a US president who is complicit in attempts to see an ally nation handed to Russia. While I believe that they SHOULD have used Russian frozen assets to fund this loan, that option while left on the table for future use was not used. There is now an opportunity for Europe to really step up and help bring this war to an end to secure a just and lasting peace without Ukraine being extorted by Trump for its energy and rare earth resources. I believe this is the first step in the separation of Europe from the US in terms of the military partnership. The intention now is to invest in European arms manufacturing as the plug is being pulled of the procurement of US military hardware. My interview with Patrick Christys on GB News to welcome the UK's decision to designate the IRGC under the enhanced sanctions regime. While it's an important and overdue step, I stressed that it is not full proscription. I expressed my views that anyone linked to the IRGC must be arrested and deported immediately as well as the closure of any institutions linked to the IRGC. The key message is that the British government now recognises the Iranian regime is neither reformable nor a reliable partner. I also warned that for decades the regime has sought to expand its influence in the UK through networks and front organisations. The fight against the IRGC's influence must continue. #IRGCterrorists
