I’m also thankful for the sanctions against officials of Rosatom. This is crucial to pressure Russia’s nuclear industry for holding our Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant hostage. The United Kingdom is taking new steps to limit Moscow’s revenue from energy resources. Japan has also introduced a sanctions package targeting Russia’s weapons production, restricting the supply of components and cutting off key schemes that support their arms manufacturing. During my recent visit to Italy, sanctions were also a key topic of discussion. Italy firmly supports maintaining pressure on Russia, and I am grateful for their help in blocking Russian sanctions evasion schemes and working with the EU to sustain all measures aimed at forcing Russia to peace.

I am grateful to Canada for its new package of sanctions against more than 160 entities linked to Russia’s shadow fleet. Today, during our meeting with Mark Carney, we discussed strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia. And it is important that such decisions are being made. We also discussed formats of defense cooperation, Canada’s participation in financing the production of Ukrainian drones under the Danish model, and cooperation in the energy sector. Importantly, Canada will continue to provide Ukraine with energy support and assistance in recovery. I thank Mark for his strong position during the G7–Ukraine meeting and for all the support for our people. I am glad to welcome the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, to Ukraine – a friend of our state, a person who does so much to support us, to stop the war, and to reliably guarantee security. Today, we held a substantive discussion on a wide range of issues. Significant attention was paid to the attack the Russians carried out against Poland yesterday. Everything indicates that the launch of Russian drones into Polish territory through the airspace of Ukraine and Belarus was deliberate and by no means accidental. Unfortunately, Russia retains the ability to continue and expand its aggression. Strong steps are needed – not only from Europe – strong pressure that will truly limit the potential of Russian warmongering. I am grateful to Finland for supporting all our sanctions work. We expect the 19th package of EU sanctions. I am also grateful for the support of our path to the EU and the opening of clusters. A separate and essential matter is shelters. In Ukraine, we value Finland’s participation in such initiatives as the Shelter Coalition. This helps us not only at the state level but also at the community level. It is important to intensify the work of these coalitions, and all cooperation that supports our country, communities, and every person.

Tonight, our air defense warriors destroyed 167 aerial targets used by Russia to attack Ukraine. I thank everyone who defends our skies. In total, there were 183 attack drones and 11 missiles of various types — “Kinzhal,” ballistic, and cruise missiles. The strike mainly targeted the Poltava region, particularly Kremenchuk.
