This Live3D hand has independent XYZ axes for the palm, forearm, and upper arm, so in theory, it can pose in any direction. Because nizimaLive only captures the position and rotation of the palm, I used Live2D’s built-in physics pendulum to simulate inverse kinematics for the arm.

In the clip, I’m nesting a sway-physics Deformer inside a 3D Warp Deformer, which itself sits inside a Z-bend Warp Deformer. The result is a Live3D hair strand that both sways and curls with its own physics.

Putting clothes on means the model has finally taken a step from being just a base body toward becoming a character. So I gave her black underwear to keep things safe from indecency, lol.

The puppet starts in a T-pose, and when I move the parameters, they pass through a logic gate simulated by physics pendulums. This distributes the pose into the correct XYZ angles for the upper arm, forearm, and palm. That’s how it creates both the relaxed and raised arm movements seen in the video. The IK system works in a similar way. It maps the captured XY position of the palm to the arm’s XY rotation, making it possible to “move the hand” in space. These systems have been floating in my head for a long time, and today I finally confirmed they’re feasible. I plan to apply this further by adding more preset poses and new control methods to the puppet.

The principle behind it actually relies on a set of Warp Deformers with delayed actions. When I move the body, the main Warp Deformer rotates to the correct angle first, while the delayed Warp Deformer arrives at its position slightly later. By "gluing" the two Warp Deformers together, I created an effect resembling physical motion. The result has been quite successful, and the method adapts well to body movements across various angles. I’m thrilled that the first experiment went so smoothly!
