Q: Why are startup ideas worthless? In his essay Ideas for Startups, Paul Graham wrote: “startup ideas are not million dollar ideas, and here's an experiment you can try to prove it: just try to sell one. Nothing evolves faster than markets. The fact that there's no market for startup ideas suggests there's no demand. Which means, in the narrow sense of the word, that startup ideas are worthless.” Steve Jobs expands on this idea further: “There’s a tremendous amount of craftsmanship in between a great idea and a great product” A lot of people think that a really great idea is 90% of the work, but a great product idea will never turn out as originally conceived. You learn a lot from the details of building it and there are always tradeoffs you have to make. In this clip, Jobs tells the story of how a widowed man showed him a rock tumbler when he was little kid. He uses the rock tumbler and process of turning common stones into beautifully polished rocks as a metaphor for a team working really hard on something they're passionate about: "It's through the team--through a group of incredibly talented people--bumping up against each other, having arguments, having fights sometimes, making some noise, and working together... they polish each other and polish the ideas. In Ag…… let’s be honest we know so very little, we just hope to capture a bit of knowledge each opportunity we get. We should learn from one another not cry about someone’s ideas because they are different then what you learned or were taught. History teaches us a lot, but it doesn’t mean you can’t move forward, it’s a constant cycle of learning. And no one learns without others! It’s a team game that we are all in together. The guy that says I can’t trust that guy as he sells that seed or that fertilizer or that foliar is going to see rough times. As learning is opening your eyes and ears to ideas, and adding them to your library full of knowledge from your own experiences. That’s how something improves. It’s not the same thing every year and it’s not changing everything all at once. It’s bringing ideas and practices together to make it all work and bridge the gap.

This sudden “I don’t understand” routine from Tommy Robinson is disingenuous. In 2018 we filmed an interview with Martin Sellner where the Great Replacement and Remigration were discussed, and he was fully on board. These are not new ideas to him. I'm not uploading this as a gotcha, I agree with Martin, but it's reminder that all this civic nationalist pearl clutching is performative, a distraction at best and selfish at worst, when the stated priority has always been reversing the open borders experiment.

Free speech doesn’t just protect the ideas we love. It protects the ideas we hate. The idiotic college “pro-Palestine” student groups are dead wrong to excuse genocidal attacks against Jews and spout disgusting anti-semitism, but one of the things that makes us different from Islamic terrorists is we don’t silence dissent. It’s a shameful political ploy for Ron DeSantis to ban the existence of pro-Palestinian student groups at Florida universities. It’s unconstitutional. It’s utter hypocrisy for someone who railed against left-wing cancel culture. Conservatives should be allowed to criticize BLM or vaccine mandates, and crazy liberals should be able to criticize Israel or the West even if they’re dead wrong about it. I’m well aware this isn’t a politically popular position right now, but if the government can censor who can speak vs not, the rest of it really doesn’t matter: we’re no different than those we pretend to fight.
