18:6 isn’t that hard. I do it everyday. Stop eating at 4pm and eat again at 10am. Make life really easy and you feel great.

I’m eating one meal a day. Coffee in the morning then no food till dinner. You get used to it. I don’t even think about food till about 4:00.

The bigger issue I see clinically isn’t when people eat. It’s what they eat during the hours they’re not fasting.

18 hours isn't hard. If you have dinner by 6-6:30 at night. 6-6:30 the next morning is already 12 hours. So noon is 18 hours, 6 hour eating window means he's waiting a ton in a short amount of time. He's eating lunch at a regular time, a nice snack around 3, and dinner at 6pm. Thats not hard if your aren't stuffing yourself with carbs and sugar.

People simply need to figure out what works for them, stop sipping over somebody else’s diet plan.

Just remove the bananas, pancakes, oatmeal, and toast and you won't have to fast. That's just empty calories that will spike your blood sugar without the nutritional value. Better to eat potatoes, blueberries, and beans instead.

I'm doing a similar thing right now. 2 months of 9:15 daily, with once a week going 36 hrs and once each month going 72 hrs... My functional medicine Dr's schedule for a thorough detox after approx. 30 years of hardcore health issues due to a root canal gone bad. So far, going well.

This framework identifies Insulin Suppression as the primary solution to "Chronic Low-Grade Inflammation." It posits that the human body is designed to oscillate between an Anabolic (Building) state and a Catabolic (Cleaning) state. By moving from "Constant Grazing" to Sovereign Pulsatile Feeding, you move from "Metabolic Sluggishness" to Cellular Renewal, ensuring your 2026 output is fueled by a system that has cleared out its internal "biological debris."

Doing OMAD currently during Lent; eat 8-9 am, fast 23 hours. Day 22. Have water fasted 92 hours previously…probably could have gone longer but got it in my head I should seek medical advice to continue.

Look at the crap he is eating. You go on a carnivore diet, do an intermittent fasting for 16-18 hours a day, and eat 2x a day, you won't need anything else

That's not good for your body. Eat more (real food), and move more. You'll lose more and turn your body into a fat burning furnace. Fast occasionally doing 3 to 7 days fasts a couple times a year, depending on length. Your body adapts to what he's doing and slows everything down to compensate. That's definitely a few years old science. Recent studies say otherwise.

What actually makes these protocols work isn’t the extreme fasting window, it’s pairing them with enough protein, micronutrients, and sleep so the body reads it as a hormetic nudge—not chronic underfueling.

if you think about it...everyone fasts for 18 hours a day. Waking up: 8 hours of sleep, no food. Meal 1 / Breakfast: Chances are you didnt eat immediately after you woke up. You took a shit, let the dog out, fired up the coffee maker, sat down, turned the tv on, let the dog in, made the cup of coffee, took another shit. An hour goes by before you make breakfast and eat something. Thats 9 hours since your last meal the day before. Meal 2 / Lunch: 3-4 hours later since eating breakfast, you're getting hungry now. Its probably 1pm. One meal being eaten before lunch is over 12 hours. You finish this, you got two meals down in 13 hours. Meal 3 / Dinner: Few more hours later, time to eat that final meal of the day which will be the last one. Mark is a fuckin idiot

😋 Mark Wahlberg's 18:6 fasting routine is intense! 💪 He's not alone; many people swear by intermittent fasting for its health benefits. As for who else is doing it, it's hard to say, but celebrities like Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Aniston have also tried various forms of intermittent fasting.

Steven Bartlett asked the question a lot of people are wondering about visceral belly fat: Is fasting actually better than plain calorie restriction? Dr. Pradip Jamnadas laid it out clearly: For most people, start with 12:12 (12 hours fasting, 12 hours eating window) for a couple of weeks, then move to 18:6. For someone significantly overweight or with diabetes trying to reverse it, he goes much deeper — 48-hour fasts once a week, or even a 3-day water fast every 9 days combined with OMAD (one meal a day). He shared a striking case: one woman with diabetes, hypertension, high lipids, and joint issues fasted for 72 days under supervision. Result? Diabetes gone, blood pressure normalized, ~55–60 pounds lost — and the weight came off her belly, face, and under her arms without the loose skin you often see with regular calorie restriction. Another patient went from 400 lbs to 210 lbs after 183 days of supervised fasting — and didn’t end up with the “skin on bones” look that usually requires surgery. Fasting triggers a completely different physiology than simple calorie cutting: better fat loss, skin retraction, metabolic repair. (Important note: Long fasts like these should only be done under medical supervision.) Have you tried structured fasting (16:8, 18:6, or longer) specifically for visceral fat or metabolic issues? What differences did you notice compared to regular calorie restriction? Your experiences 👇

Tim Robbins reveals he went 14 straight days without a single bite of food, lost 25 pounds, and unlocked total mental clarity "I just did a cleanse... one of those master cleanses. I just did 14 days on where you don't eat a thing for 14 days, and it's amazing how great you feel at the end of it." "14 whole days. No food at all?" "No food at all. No... It's lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup, and that'll get you through the day. And then every morning you're doing a purge, right? So you're cleaning all the poisons out." "14 days is a long time with no food." "It is." "What was the first thing you ate when it was over?" "You got to ease your way back in. Like clear broth first, then soups, then vegetables... about a week re-entry." "Do you experience mental clarity when you do that?" "Total mental clarity. First three days are tough, but once you get past the third day, your energy level is constant throughout the day and you can work. I play sports with it..." "How do you decide when to do it?" "Usually when you've been a little indulgent and you're not feeling too good... and you put on a little weight." "You must lose a ton of weight doing that. How much have you lost doing 14 days?" "25 pounds. About two a day." "And then your body's running completely on ketones, right? Because your body's running on fat... your mental clarity is just so much better. Everything just runs smooth. Flat energy throughout the day, no crashing after a big meal." "And you sleep less, too. You need less sleep for some reason." "Also, I think it's probably good to give your digestive system a little break, too. Just let it relax."

The Truth About Eating: Why Three Meals a Day Is a Modern Lie Most people don’t realize it, but the idea of eating three meals a day was not born from nature or tradition. It was engineered—by the Rockefeller Foundation, as part of a broader system designed to reshape how we consume, think, and live. Our ancestors didn’t sit down to breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. For many, eating three times a week was a luxury. The human body is built to thrive in a fasted state. When you sleep, your body heals—not because you’re resting, but because you’re fasting. Without food to digest, your energy is redirected toward repair, regeneration, and recovery. That’s why fasting isn’t just a trend; it’s a biological imperative. When you feel sick, the instinct is often to seek out a doctor in a white coat. But how much do they really know about the body’s innate healing mechanisms? Instead of rushing to a clinic, consider this: a 36-hour fast can activate your stem cells. These cells travel to areas of injury, targeting inflammation and promoting healing from within. The modern food system wants you dependent—on processed meals, on constant snacking, on the illusion that you need to eat all day to survive. Obesity isn’t natural; it’s installed. It’s the result of a system designed to keep you fat, lazy, and reliant on their products. Your body is not broken. It’s meant to fast. It’s meant to heal. And it’s time to reclaim that power.

The Science of Fasting - 2012 Documentary There is a reason so many religions and cultures across the world advocate for fasting to resolve health issues, and think every human being on earth should fast intermittently to help repair and detoxify themselves in this incredibly toxic world where we are being inundated from every vector. Obviously fasting can be detrimental if done excessively and the nutrition is inadequate in between fasting stints, but overall if done right, it's so obviously a great tool for our health that we should all take advantage of. It can by intermittent fasting with 18/6 or 16/8 schedules, it can be 1-2 days a month, it can be 1 week every 6 months, or whatever works best for your individual situation and health goals, but we should all be doing a little bit of fasting every now and again. Considering a large portion of the US is brutally addicted to food and severely overweight and unhealthy with countless diseases and ailments, we should be investing in fasting clinics such as the one shown in this documentary to help them break the addiction and get healthy. Robert F. Kennedy Jr has discussed detox clinics for drug abuse, and hope he can consider the same for obesity and chronic disease with fasting clinics. Many people are not disciplined and strong enough to not eat at home for a few days because of all the temptation, but if they had a place to stay with rules and restrictions, they could learn that discipline and then do it on their own. For anyone that thinks it's dangerous to fast for a long period of time, you should lookup the story of the scottish man back in 1965 who was over 450lbs and fasted for a year straight. If you have body fat on you, you can fast until it's gone, as long as you have water to drink.
