Maybe Game Graphics have really peaked in 2015 This is a modded version of Battlefront, no need for any fancy tech like Ray Tracing or Path Tracing to look photorealistic. Video Credit: jackfrags

Way too many people will whine "baked lighting, of course it looks good!" when it's only 50% of the story: The lighting models aren't garbage Lambert. SSR(fixed) is superior Supported RT(frustum) shadows Top-notch SSAO Conservative(non-ghosting) TAA Great materials & effects.

🤠 We're a small indie team making a Space Western game that mix together cRPGs like the original Fallout and top-down shooters like Ruiner. Featuring real-time combat, organic roleplay, and a deep narrative with different endings 🚀 👉 Wishlist on Steam

Part of me thinks they keep adding tech bloat to justify pricing.

2015 graphics on PS4

Raytracing is nothing but a gimmick to get users to buy more cards at stupid prices. turn rtx on and its unplayable natively at 1440p or 4k on almost all of the cards on the market. anyone who is a true gamer knows fps>>>>>>some stupid reflections

Mirror's Edge: Catalyst (2016) still looks amazing

I remember playing the beta for this and thinking it was the best looking game I had ever played. My PC ran it extremely well, too, which made no sense. Nothing close to that since then.

Also you don't get the noises from Ray-Tracing & Path_Tracing, which is another awesome thing. You only have to see @scionti_design work with the dynamic lighting. Also he has a new game called Whispers In The Fog that uses Dynamic lights with no noisy Ray-Tracing/Path-Tracing.

Battlefront still looks fantastic and up-to-date. But as far as I remember there´s no day-and-night-cycle so the lighting is mostly static and could be prerendered. More complex game worlds require more expensive solutions.

I disagree, lol. You can tell when RT is off while playing. Everything looks dead like a painting.

Doesn't this mode use Ray Traced Global Illumination?
