How do you give a humanoid the general motion capability? Not just single motions, but all motion? Introducing SONIC, our new work on supersizing motion tracking for natural humanoid control. We argue that motion tracking is the scalable foundation task for humanoids. So we "supersized" it: 9k+ GPU hours and 100M+ motion frames. But tracking alone is not enough; we show how to make a useful control system out of it: - Universal Kinematic Planner: Enables game-like gamepad control and high-level teleoperation, just like controlling a character in a game. - VR Full-Body Teleop: Direct, real-time whole-body control by a human wearing a VR headset. - VR Keypoint Teleop: Control the upper body (hands/head) while our planner handles robust locomotion automatically. - VLA Integration: We connect this motion tracker to autonomous Visual-Language-Action (VLA) models for autonomous task execution! What would a World Model look like if we start from a real embodied agent acting in the real world? It has to have: 1) A real, physically grounded and complex action space—not just abstract control signals. 2) Diverse, real-life scenarios and activities. Or in short: It has to be annoyingly complex—in both the action and vision space—to even get close to real life. We did an initial attempt: Whole-Body Conditioned Egocentric Video Prediction. 🔥 JUST IN: Open-source robotics dataset from 100% real-world scenarios! 🤯 Chinese robotics company AGIBOT just released AGIBOT WORLD 2026, an open-source dataset systematically covering key embodied AI research directions. Built entirely from real-world environments: commercial spaces, and homes. Collected using AGIBOT G2 robots in free-form collection mode, providing structured, accurately annotated, high-quality data. Digital twin technology creates 1:1 scale replicas in simulation matching the real environments. Both real-world and simulation data are open-sourced. The AGIBOT G2 platform collects multiple data types simultaneously: RGB(D) cameras, tactile sensors, force sensors, LiDAR, IMU, and full-body joint states. Whole-body control coordinates arms, waist, and hands for complex tasks. First-person teleoperation lets operators control the robot from its perspective. The tasks covered are fine-grained manipulation, ultra-long-horizon tasks, spatial navigation, dual-arm coordination, and multi-agent/human-robot collaboration. Instead, much research revolves around sim-to-real manipulation — but mostly this has not been mobile manipulation. Recently, though, this has begun to change. Two recent papers from Tairan He and Haoru Xue show us how to unlock the potential of this technique, building policies which, without any real data at all, can move objects around in the world and open doors in the real world with a humanoid robot. Running legged robots with AI. Today we met @swiss_mile, the team connecting AI with the physical world using autonomous machines. An ideal mobile robot needs to move quickly, overcoming obstacles while carrying heavy loads—something current robots still struggle with. Many robots haven't been widely adopted due to issues with real-world problem-solving. To address this, the Swiss-mile team have created a solution that combines robots with wheels and legs, powered by advanced AI. These robots can walk, drive, stand, open doors, and even handle packages. By integrating these features, the team are on a mission to push automation forward beyond stationary robotic arms and have raised $22m in Seed Funding from Jeff Bezos, HongShan, Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund and Armada Investment to do so.
