Meta Develops Non-Invasive Neural Interface for Next-Generation Interaction Meta Reality Labs is advancing wrist-based neural interface technology designed to enable more natural and intuitive interaction with future computing platforms. The non-invasive device leverages finger-tracking to interpret user intent. Meta’s CEO has indicated that the technology could reach commercialization within... show more

This video and information are ancient. Since then, Meta has shipped this in an actual consumer product with a much sleeker design!

But can i do this with them

"non-invasive" had to make that really clear huh.

This is the real unlock for robotics. Forget joysticks — EMG from the wrist captures human intent with zero latency. We're building wearable sensors for robot data collection @peaborobotics. Signal fidelity from wrist-based neural input is massively underrated. Meta knows.

This bracelet is already available with the Meta Ray Ban Display it works very well

for this device (and everyone else) to be practical, there are two issues that need to be addressed. 1. incredibly affordable and wearable 2. Easy adoption and open source (for various operating systems and embedded devices). Without that, it will be easily forgettable...

Thalmic Labs kids.

How can I interface this with Warudo? 🤔

This feels like a real glimpse into the future of human-computer interaction. これはまさに、人とコンピューターの関わり方の未来を見せてくれる技術ですね。

Another 3 or 4 years to wait. The future heralds our salvation and emancipation from this biological enslavement. It is surely sad, but were we ever given a choice ? Glory to progress.

Yeah we can scroll the endless pile of shit that is Facebook just by waving our hands about. How about meta do some good for society

ok that actually is kinda cool just wishing it won t steal my arms hair data

I have a question: will it be possible to use this bracelet together with the virtual reality headset?

@crixlaxvt préstame sus manitas! Preste preste jsjsjsjsj

This looks neat even though we all know that whatever is released will be buggy shit. That said, this is an old video.

I need this so I can use Claude Code at the same time as I workout

Pip boy alpha edition

They’ll most certainly pull a Niantic with all the data gathered from this.

This is pretty close to my dream VR controller setup. Not as a replacement to controller for gaming, but to make the controllers optional when you just want to sit down to watch a movie, or standing around socializing. Just needs a fully configurable button interface on top.

I had the same idea fifteen years ago using flex sensors

Meta is kinda like valve in this regard. They develop a lot of stuff. Only difference (besides the obvious avoidance of consumer friendliness by zucc) is meta shows the projects they very rarely release

yeah but i still don't want the glasses

Curious how much training data it needs to accurately map individual intent vs generic patterns. Has anyone seen real latency numbers?

What kinda Black Mirror technology bs is this?!?!? Nah, fr, this looks interesting

that's about time what took you so long...

wrist interfaces still feel more plausible than glasses first

I had the same idea fifteen years ago using flex sensors.

@Meta shipped the greatest controller or enabler or input device in human history.

this would go INSANE with vr

I will wait for something not owned by Meta to be developed....

They could even simulte resistnce when grabbing things by applying a small current at the forearm muscles

This is exciting but the wristband is a temporary step. The real endgame is full neural integration without any wearable at all – think electric field detection from a distance. Meta knows this.
