Over the course of the night, Ukraine’s Defense Forces neutralized more than 400 drones, which is a significant result – achieved by our unmanned systems units, army aviation, and mobile fire groups. Electronic warfare did its job. Some of the missiles were also shot down – although, of course, it is extremely difficult to counter ballistic and aeroballistic missiles. Only a few systems in the world are capable of intercepting such missiles effectively – and to protect our entire territory, we need far more of these systems and the missiles for them. We are working with the United States to purchase additional Patriots, and we are very much counting on the support. I am grateful to every leader, to every one of our friends in Europe, in America, in Asia, who is trying to help.

My heart weeps for our community in #Ghana following the passing of the stringent anti-LGBTQ law a few hours ago. This legislation, one of the most severe in Africa, not only perpetuates the punishment of LGBTQ+ individuals but also criminalises the vital support and advocacy for these communities. It’s a dark day for human rights in Ghana, and my thoughts are with everyone who now faces even more significant challenges in living their truth. As the Director General of Uganda Key Populations Consortium , I’ve witnessed firsthand the power of community and the resilience of those fighting for their right to love and exist freely. The passage of this law is a stark reminder of the battles still ahead in the journey toward equality and justice. Now, more than ever, our brothers and sisters in Ghana need our support and solidarity. We must rally to amplify their voices and challenge this affront to human dignity. The fight for human rights knows no borders, and we stand with the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana, advocating for a world where everyone’s rights are protected and cherished. These days, a Ukrainian delegation, including the First Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, representatives of the General Staff, and the Head of the Office of the President, is working in Washington. There have been meetings at various levels, and one of our top priorities is securing long-range capabilities for our Defense Forces. This is crucial to preventing the terror that our Kharkiv and other cities across Ukraine are forced to endure. Clearing Ukrainian skies of Russian guided bombs is a powerful step toward forcing Russia to seek an end to the war and a just peace. Our representatives have provided all the necessary information and details to our partners. I am calling on the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany – we need the means to fully and effectively protect Ukraine and its people. We need permissions for long-range capabilities, as well as your long-range shells and missiles. Making these vital decisions cannot be delayed – these are the actions that can have the most significant impact on the course of events. We are also discussing air defense with our partners – systems that are especially needed now, before the start of the school year, to provide more safety for Ukrainian children in schools, for our cities, and our energy infrastructure. We have agreements with partners on air defense systems and missiles for these systems. It's crucial to implement everything as quickly as possible. Today, we can already say there is a good result for our air defense – Ukraine now has more Patriots. I thank Chancellor Merz, I thank Germany, and everyone who helps – our agreements have been fulfilled. More Patriots are now in Ukraine and being put into operation. Of course, more systems are needed to protect key infrastructure sites and our cities across the entire territory of Ukraine, and we will continue working to obtain them – not only at the political level with states and leaders but also directly with manufacturers of all necessary air defense systems and missiles for them.

When Ukraine addresses partners, requesting air defense systems that they have in warehouses and bases but that are needed here, in Ukraine, to protect lives, we are talking about genuine allied action. We in Ukraine value the efforts of all leaders and states who are truly active, keep their promises, and work hard to improve the capabilities of our air shield. Russian terrorists have already had enough time—years—to destroy Ukrainian life. This year cannot be a year of further discussions. Everything is very specific. Ukraine needs air defense, and partners can help us with that. We need artillery, and the world has it. Only a sufficient number of air defense systems and fighter jets can drive the Russian aviation away. Decisions must be made. And they are possible. Everyone around the world who truly desires peace must not be afraid to demonstrate force in order to defend life.

Tom Homan thinks it’s ok to separate immigrant parents and children because that’s what happens if someone is arrested for a DUI (usually for a day until they are bailed out). Seeking asylum is not the same as drinking and driving. Under U.S. law, individuals have the right to seek asylum regardless of their manner of entry into the country. This means that even if someone enters the United States between official ports of entry, they are still eligible to apply for asylum. Things get even more complicated and inhumane if you consider the fact that there are thousands and thousands of immigrants who have had children born in the United States. I am all for protecting our border and stemming immigration, but we have to do it in a humane and ethical way.
