TROOPS OF OPERATION HADIN KAI DEFEAT MULTIPLE TERRORIST ATTACKS, DELIVER FOLLOW-ON PRECISION STRIKES, RESCUE CIVILIANS Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), on 22 April 2026, successfully repelled coordinated terrorist attacks at Kanama, Ngoshe, and Banki across the Theatre. The attacks, which occurred at various times during the day, were decisively defeated through the vigilant response of troops and effective fire control, with no adverse reports recorded. The failed assaults further underscore the sustained combat readiness of OPHK troops and their dominance in denying terrorists freedom of action. In continuation of offensive operations, OPHK conducted follow-on precision air interdiction missions, including a strike at about 0315 hours on 22 April 2026 at Sowolowolo in the Sambisa Forest axis. The strike, executed after target confirmation, destroyed the remaining terrorist gun trucks in the area, bringing the total number of neutralised platforms to three. Additionally, another precision strike at Kaniram in the Mallam Fatori axis targeted terrorists observed conducting burial activities following earlier OPHK strikes, resulting in the neutralisation of scores of fleeing and regrouping elements. Further demonstrating operational effectiveness, troops of Sector 1, under 26 Brigade, conducted search and rescue operations towards the Mandara Mountains, successfully rescuing 15 women and children earlier abducted by terrorists. In a desperate but ineffective response, JAS elements fired projectiles into Gwoza, causing no casualties or damage. These coordinated successes highlight OPHK’s sustained offensive pressure, effective air–land integration, and commitment to protecting civilians while dismantling terrorist capabilities. Troops will continue to maintain relentless operations to dominate the battlespace and ensure terrorists are decisively defeated across the Joint Operations Area. OPERATION HADIN KAI TROOPS SUSTAIN OFFENSIVE OPERATIONS UNDER DESERT SANITY V, CRUSHING TERRORIST CELLS AND ENCLAVES IN THE TIMBUKTU AND BULABULIN FOREST AREAS Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have continued to sustain offensive pressure against terrorist elements, under Operation DESERT SANITY V, recording significant operational gains in 2 separate but coordinated engagements involving troops of Sector 2 in the Azir Bridge (Timbuktu axis) and Bulabulin Forest areas in close coordination with the Air Component Command of OPHK. On the Bulabulin Forest axis, troops of Sector 2 in conjunction with elements of Sector 2 Stabilisation Force Brigade and the Civilian Joint Task Force cleared terrorist enclaves at Mar, Subdu, Yaro Lawanti and Yaro Shuwari as well as other areas contiguous to the Bulabulin Forest and the Kamadogu Yobe stretch. During the operation, supported by assault air platforms from the Air Component Command, the troops made contact at Malam Shiri Village and engaged the terrorists in a well-coordinated and tactical flanking manoeuvre, neutralising 11 terrorists and forcing others to flee with varying degrees of injuries. All life support structures were subsequently destroyed and exploitation of the area led to the recovery of 9 AK-47 rifles, 3 PKT anti aircraft automatic machine guns, 5 motorcycles, assorted ammunition, and several materials used for Improvised Explosive Devices, thereby significantly disrupting the terrorist logistics and operational capability within the axis. Similarly, at the Timbuktu axis along the Wajiroko Sabongari corridor, troops had further engagements with the terrorists with air support from the Air Component Command of OPHK. The troops with resilience and tactical discipline, maintained positions and decisively dealt with the terrorists. Subsequent exploitation revealed 7 neutralised terrorists, with additional blood trails and body parts indicating significantly higher enemy casualties during the assault. Recovered items include AK-47 rifles, RPG tubes, a large cache of ammunition, bandoliers, and communication equipment. The Air Component Command of OPHK played a very crucial and decisive role in both engagements, providing persistent Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) that enabled accurate target acquisition and real-time situational awareness for ground troops coordinated fire. Precision air interdiction strikes were subsequently conducted by the NAF aircrafts on confirmed terrorist positions and fleeing elements, further decimating scores of the insurgents and ensuring the success of a well synchronised air–land offensive that overwhelmed the adversary. Troops, in conjunction with volunteer forces, are currently conducting aggressive follow-up exploitation operations along the Forfor, Multe, and Wajiroko axes to consolidate gains, pursue fleeing terrorists, and prevent any attempt at regrouping. These successful engagements further reinforce OPHK’s growing operational effectiveness and sustained dominance across the Theatre. Military Air Assets Decimate Terrorist Convoy, Neutralize Scores of Fighters in Coordinated Air Offensive Near Cross Kauwa By: Zagazola Makama The Nigerian Military, operating under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), has recorded another significant operational success against ISWAP terrorists following a series of coordinated intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and precision air interdiction missions around Cross Kauwa and Ali Sherifti in northern Borno State. Zagazola Makama learnt that the operation dealt a devastating blow to terrorist logistics and fighting capabilities, resulting in the destruction of multiple vehicles and the neutralisation of several insurgents attempting to regroup within the Lake Chad axis. Sources said the mission commenced late on June 6 when an ISR platform established surveillance over a suspected terrorist hideout at Cross Kauwa, located along a network of tracks concealed within dense vegetation and scattered tree cover. Intelligence-driven reconnaissance revealed a significant concentration of terrorist activity in the area. Military sources disclosed that during the surveillance mission, operators positively identified approximately 12 vehicles concealed beneath trees and observed the movement of suspected terrorists attempting to evade aerial detection by moving between cover positions. The discovery pointed to what appeared to be a major terrorist staging area used for logistics, movement coordination, and possible attack planning.
