Modelling blockouts can be really easy when using Fspy and its blender import addon. Here's a quick example using photo ref. You can easily do it with concept art too (if the perspective is easily ascertained).

I used Blender Perspective Plotter to pull the rough dimensions of this helmet out and then used that object block out in Plasticity to finish out the model. Would have been extremely difficult without the tool to normalize perspective.

i've been meaning to try this out - really great model and seems pretty accurate to the ref!

I wish there were more tutorials on fspy beyond basic use. That said, one thing I figured out today is I can tweak the fspy distance setting in Blender by parenting the fspy camera to a cube, then resizing the cube.

Fspy saved me when I had a project recreating real kitchen appliances in 3D based on photo reference.

Have used it with Maya. Between the two it did a great job of matching the virtual camera to the live camera, which had a cropped sensor.

You definitely have to look into perspective plotter. So nice having this functionality directly inside or blender.
