How can players make a big jump next year?!?! For High School and College players… they all put in work with their coaches. Most of them have a trainer they see to put in work. So what is the separator? 1. Are you working on the right things with your coaches that are going to help you be a better player working your team and overall 2. HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU PUT IN THE GYM ON YOUR OWN. This is a HUGE SEPARATOR because this time isn’t dependent on anyone and is unlimited in how much you do. Almost every player I’ve worked with that has made a BIG JUMP has put in extra time on their own. It’s not only because of the work, but it also helps players understand their game better and gives them a bigger investment in their development. As a player you should assess that part of your development today!

Over the past year, a lot of the conversation has been around how quickly AI is changing the digital world. At the same time, it made us think about how little has changed in the physical one. Most products are still designed the same way, just with more features layered on top. We wanted to explore a different direction at Lusion. Instead of asking how to add intelligence, we asked what happens if you take things away. What remains when you strip a product back to its core purpose, and design it properly from there. Oryzo is our first attempt at that. It is a physical product, built with a very simple idea of how it should exist and behave. No dependency on external systems, no complexity for the sake of it. Just something that feels considered. Curious to hear what people think. Link is in the comment!

We currently train 130 athletes, yet every session is capped at 4 people. No matter how much we grow, this will never change. We prioritize development & strive to provide the highest quality athletes. Our goal is to bridge the gap from high school to college. Since 2020, the athletes I’ve trained have earned 32 college scholarships, including some of the biggest programs in the country. One player I helped completely rework her movement went on to become the 2022 ACC Player of the Year. What makes it special is that I’m not connected to any organization, and I don’t have hundreds of athletes cycling through. My training happens in a Little League cage, no tech, no Rapsodo, no bat speed sensors. Everything I teach comes down to one thing: learning how to move from the center out. Five years ago, I realized we were training like everyone else chasing one swing method, one path and all my hitters started to look the same. I knew something was missing. That’s when I dove into movement science, retrained my own body, and discovered that real development doesn’t come from mechanics or cookie-cutter paths. I’ve never been one to settle. Today, I have a few trusted mentors across the country whom I speak with daily about movement and hitting, and I’ve spent significant time learning from them. Most parents and coaches think the next “best drill” will fix a player’s swing. What they don’t understand is that a tool starting in the hands cannot fix the swing. Real development starts from the middle out controlling center mass first. Start at the hands or barrel, and you fight the body’s natural movement. The swing doesn’t happen overnight. Consistency and true swing change come from years of learning how to move properly. When athletes get strong, develop great habits, and understand how to control their center, development skyrockets. Stay patient. Stay consistent. Prioritize movement over results. The swing is built on movement, not mechanics. Control your center, and the rest of the body follows. Adjustability, power, and consistency all start here. At the end of the day, I don’t care what a swing looks like I care how the body moves. Every athlete who trains here learns to control their center, adapt to every pitch, and build a swing that works naturally. Control your center. Control your swing. Be the best version of yourself.

And if you have a pitcher in your house you have probably heard both sides. Here is what Dr. Kevin McGovern has seen in over thirty years of working with pitchers at every level: the arm is the caboose. Power does not start there. It never did. It starts with two movements most pitchers have never been taught correctly. The hip hinge and scapular depression. Master those two things and you have built the foundation that every other training tool has to sit on top of. Skip them and it does not matter what you throw or how hard you throw it. The body will find a way to compensate and eventually it will find a way to break down.
