Motorcycle shock absorber lubrication method

WD 40 is NOT a lubricant, you fucking idiots.

This is the comment many of you were looking for. I have been a Honda factory registered motorcycle technician since 1992, please do not do this. Telescopic forks do not require external lubrication as the hydraulic oil is held inside of the fork tube. The fork tube is sealed with 2 seals, the seal that the WD-40 is being injected into is only the dust (external) seal. The actual oil seal is underneath the dust seal and the only thing that will happen here is that the WD-40 is trapped in between the seals or if it did penetrate the lip of the oil seal, it will create a hole in the oil seal and begin leaking the fork oil out and let dirt in. WD-40 can also soften/weaken seals and cause them to leak as well. WD-40 is a solvent, NOT a lubricant

Please remove this post immediately...People will ruin perfectly good fork \ seals if they start spraying WD40 into them...WD40 can actually perish seals, plus its not required as the lubrication oil lives in the bottom part of the fork leg...
