I would put 1.6 Cr in FD and and get 1 lakh per month interest and stay in a 4 star hotel and still will have money left for monthly expenses. Real estate is not real.

You bring ₹1.6 crore to Mumbai and the broker shows you a house where your bed and fridge are in a situationship

With 1.6cr to spend. Move to mountains and live a peaceful life rather than living like a cockroach (an honest feedback from a Mumbaikar)

Compare this to Bangalore or Chennai where similar budget gets you a proper 2BHK with parking and amenities. Mumbai's scarcity model works perfectly for sellers but kills affordability for everyone else.

this looks like 400 sq feet so easily 3 crore at walkeshwar. if its 1.6 must be on pagdi not ownership.

Location looks like junction of Malabar Hill / Babulnath road. For this locality and two persons, this is a good deal. A little touch up, interiors will make it liveable. You get a 1BHK in Dahisar for 1 Cr. For only 60% extra, this is a much better option. Good ventilation too.

In every mid sized to large Indian city, the mid range housing market is completely broken. Middle class families can barely afford anything decent above ₹80 lakh these days, it desperately needs fixing through better supply and policy reforms. That said, this place actually looks nice with solid ventilation and a great view.

If you work remotely then it's better to move to vizag. You can rent a 3BHK right on the main beach road at 25-30K.

Mumbai: Where dreams come true, but only if your budget is 2+ crore for a 1BHK.

even 8% FD on that would give you more than 1 lac per month, pay 50% of that to rent and sip remaining 50% , enjoy your middle age life 😉

Bro with that sum of money, I would build a mansion with great amenities at a far away place, that's totally isolated from chaos...😌🍹
