Nolan's Odyssey should have been based on "Ulysses 31"

I wonder if someone actually remade this, would they get sued by Disney for using the lightsaber?

@vikare06 @OlivierGodolin The Mysterious Cities of Gold too, probably? More obscure was Les Mondes Engloutis / Spartakus and the Sun beneath the sea, its opening theme was as haunting as the story was weird and forgettable

No joke! Shingo Araki was character designer on this one! He worked on Saint Seiya later, another greek mythology flavored anime and my personal favorite.

Everything after the arrow shot is great when he reveals himself to be not Odysseus but Ulysses from the 31st century, then launches himself into the air to pretend to be a God and stop the massacre in the hall!

Don't dare to compare Nolan's "Nerf Ulysses and his offended troop" with this masterpiece.

There were plans for a sci-fi version of The Odyssey as film after Troy came out, but never got that far in development.

One of my faves, mainly because when the Final Episode aired in the UK, it kinda tied all the other random Eps together for my young brain so every time I watched it after I felt part of their journey somehow. Weird, but I love that memory from my childhood.
