Rob Reiner’s Misery is one of my favorite movies- just one of my favorite movies ever, regardless of any further qualifier. It’s hard to accept both Reiner & James Caan are now no longer with us. But films this good allow them to sort of live on forever in some ways. A sad day.

JUST IN: Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were killed by their son, according to PEOPLE. Two bodies were found at the couple's Brentwood, California home on Sunday afternoon. According to TMZ, wounds were found on their bodies that are consistent with stab wounds. "Our sources say the two suffered lacerations consistent with a knife. The LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division is still investigating," TMZ reported. Rob and his wife had three children together: Jake, Nick, and Romy. Rob had another daughter, Tracy, from his previous marriage. In multiple 2016 interviews, Rob Reiner and his son, Nick, opened up about their project together titled, 'Being Charlie.' The character of Frank, played by James Caan in Thief, was partly based on real-life professional thief John Santucci, who served as a consultant on the film. Santucci also appears in the movie as Sergeant Urizzi, the corrupt Chicago vice cop who harasses and shakes down Frank. Santucci, who had only recently been paroled, trained Caan in the methods of a professional thief and supplied the production with his own collection of burglary tools. Under his supervision, Caan spent weeks learning to operate specialized drills, hydraulic pullers and high-temperature thermal lances. Let’s be clear about something. Trump wrote this morning that what happened to Rob Reiner and his wife Michele was a very sad thing and may they rest in peace. He didn’t celebrate his death. He did say how he felt about the man who hated him with every ounce of his being and influenced millions of people to hate him also. Those people pretending that what Trump said or what Trump supporters have said is anything even remotely comparable to what the deranged left said about Charlie Kirk, are delusional.
