Tested this concepting workflow. ▶️ Converting a level design image to a 3D asset gallery image ▶️ re-generating segmented subjects into separate high quality images. ▶️ using these images to generate the 3D meshes. First time using 'for loops' in ComfyUI, works great and the prompts are updated for every segment. I used the Nano Banana 2 API node in ComfyUI to generate the final high quality images. Those SAM3 nodes are crazy btw, just set some points and it creates a mask! For the 3D model generation I used the new Tripo Smart Mesh tool, which is fast! The output is not perfect yet. I think in a lot of cases not production ready right now but that depends on the input image and the goal as well. For pre-production / concepting phase it's perfect and for far distance meshes it’s fine. I’m sure these tools keep improving, curious what we can work with in 3-6 months. Minimal cleanup and scaling in Blender and tested the meshes in UEFN / Unreal Engine. After creating the ComfyUI workflow it took less than an hour to do everything.

I built a fully playable 3D platformer game in exactly 3 days, using almost entirely AI-generated assets. To test whether AI can really replace the asset grind, I came up with a steampunk cat universe from scratch and brought it straight into Unreal Engine 5. We find that our new perceptual loss formulation improves reconstruction fidelity compared to commonly-used methods such as LPIPS. Our trained reconstruction model is able to generate 3D-consistent heads from a single input image. Even with challenging side-view inputs, the model robustly infers missing regions for a coherent, high-fidelity output. In addition, our architecture seamlessly adapts to downstream tasks: by swapping the encoder, we can transform the model into a disentangled 3D editing pipeline. In this scenario, we can control geometry through - potentially hand-drawn - segmentation maps, and condition style via image or text prompt. Flip it the other and it’s damp, detailed soil. Both sides are real. No fake backsides. No tiling tricks. Ultra-lightweight. Fully real-time. Clones cleanly across geometry. And here’s the key difference - splats don’t really care about intersections. Coplanar overlaps don’t break the asset, they add density and realism. To match this traditionally with 3D you’d need thousands of moss scatters or extremely dense geo - and it would still feel off. In collaboration with Intel, our Depth Fusion showcases the power of our LDM3D diffusion model in generating 360° views from text prompts provided by the user. The LDM3D diffusion model generates a 2D RGB image and its corresponding relative depth map providing a complete RGBD representation corresponding to the text prompt. The LDM 3D model is a specialized version of the stable diffusion V 1.4 model that has been modified to fit both image and depth map data.The model was then fine tuned on a subset of the Laion400M data set - large scale image caption data set. The depth maps used to fine tune our model were generated by the DPTBeiT large 512 depth estimation model that provides highly accurate relative depth estimates for each pixel. We take the generated 2D RGB image and depth map and use them to compute a 360° projection using touchdesigner. Touchdesigner is a versatile platform that allows for the creation of immersive and interactive multimedia experiences. Our application harnesses the power of touchdesigner to bring the generated 360° views to life, providing users with a unique and engaging way to experience their text prompts, whether it’s a description of a tranquil forest, a noisy cityscape or a futuristic sci fi world.
