Ballistic missiles are Russia’s last remaining argument in this war, and we must find sufficient countermeasures. I thank our partners and Mark Rutte that the PURL initiative exists and is functioning – contributions were made this May. There will be contributions in June as well. Today, we discussed how we can accelerate and expand deliveries under this key program. I also thank all our partners who are already working with us on joint production and helping with funding so that weapons production in Ukraine can continue to grow. We discussed with the NATO Secretary General several other things that could provide Ukraine with stronger long-term financial security guarantees. We will keep working on this at both the G7 Summit and the NATO Summit in Ankara. Sanctions against Russia. Our long-range capabilities. Financing for Ukraine. Our political cooperation. And our partners’ determination to help Ukraine precisely when help is needed – all of this sends signals to Russia that this war will bring it no results. Ukraine will prepare and send partners a list of needs to support our energy infrastructure and military capabilities. We are counting on their support. We also expect that our partners will deliver the full package of air defense and other assistance to Ukraine – the very package agreed upon at the NATO summit in Washington this past July. The goal is to strengthen Ukraine to the maximum and add to our defense every month. This week has proved the effectiveness of the air defense systems provided by partners. We are working to bolster our air defense and have already made agreements. This topic is being discussed at every meeting with partners. There will be more systems and more protection. We are also planning more important foreign contacts until the end of the year. Despite the fact that the holiday season reduces political activity in many countries, our whole foreign policy team is working around the clock. "There is probably no one in the world who would like to see the war end and peace come as much as the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian military. But we don't dream of peace at any cost, because then these three years will be in vain. We are fighting here not only for our land. We are fighting not only for our families. The values of freedom, the desire to live in our own country, the values of being human beings, not slaves. We are a country that has always valued and will always value peace. Our peace can only withstand such aggression by force of arms. I know that 🇨🇭 is having a discussion about permits to re-export weapons to protect 🇺🇦. And I want every participant in the discussion to remember one fact: we are asking the world for weapons to make our 🇺🇦 territory a territory of peace again. All our land, all our people... Only for this! Exactly as envisaged by international law.

Today, Russian forces attempted to expand their operations against Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. We know the size of the occupiers' forces and their intentions. Our warriors, artillery, and drones are fighting back against the occupier. I thank each soldier, sergeant, and officer who is defending our positions. We are strengthening Kharkiv directions. Along the state border and on the frontlines, we will continue to destroy the occupiers and thwart Russia's offensive intentions. It is critical that partners support our warriors and Ukrainian resilience with timely deliveries. Truly timely ones. A package that truly helps is the actual delivery of weapons to Ukraine, rather than just the announcement of a package. I thank every leader who sees the situation this way. We also continue to actively prepare for the Global Peace Summit. Our goal is to ensure that every leader can demonstrate effectiveness for the sake of the common good. I am confident we will succeed. And we must acknowledge that this is precisely what Russia is attempting to undermine right now. The more meaningful the summit, the closer peace will be. Putin obviously does not want it. It is also clear that he will continue to try to thwart our efforts, both through offensive action and by undermining our agreements with other leaders. We must not allow this to happen and we will make every effort in this regard.

We covered all aspects of our strategy for bringing peace closer—geopolitical, military, and economic. We must act together—everyone who has the necessary strength and influence—to guarantee a reliable peace, to compel Russia to peace. But we must act now, in the coming months. We need to strengthen our soldiers on the frontlines and bolster our shared positions. Now, at the team level, we will work with our European partners to fill each step of our plan to the fullest.
