Students at St. George’s school in Nairobi are on strike after one of their comrades was assaulted by a teacher for being outside viewing the eclipse. The students slept outside making noise, calling for justice. Police were overwhelmed by the students and could not contain the protest. Parents have arrived at the school in a bid to find a solution but what is clear is that the winds of change are blowing even in schools. The big question is if young girls like these can fight for their rights, what were adults doing at bogus Rhema Festivals pretending to act as if everything is alright?

#Hyderabad--- Students of #CMR engineering girls hostel on Wednesday staged a protest raising slogans of "We want justice", alleging that videos of them in bathrooms were recorded by the hostel cooking staff in their cell phones. Upon receiving information about the incident, student unions rushed to the spot and extended their solidarity to the protest taken by the girl students. The local police said that they would register a case following the complaints from the #students and launch a probe on the issue.

Student sources told NC that cultists joined the protest, leading to gunfire exchanges with the police (shots fired in the air). Just two days ago, he was saying that they didn't need police permission to protest and that they would protest without any permission. He was also claiming that they would hold a massive protest and keep it going all day, making all sorts of big claims and bold statements. And today, barely an hour into the protest, Saurav Das's condition deteriorated. He couldn't handle the heat and reportedly became dehydrated. People were fanning him with handheld fans to help him recover. Saurav Das couldn't even last for one hour at the protest, yet these people claim they will bring change to the country and replace the government. 😂

OAU transport system was near perfect, adequate buses and bikes, we rarely experienced queues until the First Lady came and decided she didn’t like the ease of transportation and introduced “change” by donating CNG buses. The school management in turn banned all motorcycles and commercial buses on campus and subjected over 30,000 students to just about 50 buses and a few tricycles. OAU has one of the largest land masses of any Nigerian university, yet students are now stranded daily. This is a Monday morning where students are supposed to rush for class, but they are stuck at the campus gate because of the inefficiency of the CNG buses. Students are struggling to go to class in the morning and in the evenings to even get back to their hostels. Students staying off campus now spend almost double to get to campus, all alternative transport means have been removed The management have cars to bypass all of this, but majority of students do not. Yet they released statements talking about how the buses will “ease transportation” and even implied students appreciate the system. Meanwhile, students are trekking, missing classes, and spending hours in queues. Let it be clear that students do not appreciate this system. It has made our lives harder, not better. What used to be a smooth system has now become a daily struggle. There are many pressing issues in this school, but they chose to dismantle a working transport system and replace it with hardship. We can no longer remain silent. Let the whole world know what OAU students are going through. Chicago Police called in multiple 10-1’s “Officer Emergency” after a large crowd of parents & students fighting in and outside the gym. Multiple students and players told us the fight started after several teens stepped onto the basketball court and was talking trash, starting things with Bowen High School players.
